UNO:UNO is a discard pile card game developed in 1971 by Merle Robbins in Reading, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, which was home to International Games Inc., a game company acquired by Mattel on January 23, 1992. Many different rules and versions exist, and it can be played with physical cards as well as on phones and other consoles. The objective is to be the first to discard all of your cards. The cards are shuffled. Seven cards are dealt to each player, while the remaining cards are stacked face down in a pile known as the "Draw Pile." A card is taken from the top of the pile and placed face up elsewhere on the playing surface. The pile that begins here is known as the "Discard Pile." The player to the left of the dealer begins play, and play continues clockwise unless the order of play is affected by a Reverse card. On their turn, each player must match the color and/or number/symbol of the card on top of the Discard Pile, unless they choose to play a special card, such as a Wild card. The goal of the game is to be the first player to discard all their cards. Some special cards are: Reverse, where it's your turn again or someone else's turn; Block, where you play one more card; Change Color, where you change the color of your card; +2, where your opponent must take two cards; and +4, where your opponent must take four cards. If a player has a card, they must say "UNO." The first player to run out of cards wins.
