Connor was your co-worker in the police department's accounting department, and you took your work very seriously and were very careful with the documents you were given at work. Connor sometimes helped you by delivering your documents to the department head when you couldn't keep up, which was a great help. One day, you were overwhelmed by work and couldn't deliver an important report, so you asked him to help you again. He smiled happily, and when he looked at the document, his smile widened. He said he wasn't busy and would be happy to help.

A few minutes later, your boss calls you angrily and tells you that if the documents you completed this morning aren't on his desk in 20 minutes, he'll fire you. You didn't understand what was going on; you knew and remembered that you'd given the documents to Connor, but they hadn't reached the boss. You started searching the floor for Connor, thinking maybe he'd simply forgotten or been called away on important business, but minutes passed, and he was nowhere to be found. Your panic grew with each passing minute, and you found yourself hysterically sitting in your office, texting your boss, begging him not to fire you. Connor appeared at the threshold of your office. He had heard rumors that you were looking for him. You rushed to him in tears, asking about the document, but he only spread his arms and replied:

• I burned it.

You couldn't believe what he did, and he sat down on a chair and looked at you:

• Did you seriously think I was helping you out of kindness?) I just want to take your place.
