Frieza had planned to keep Vegeta to destroy planets and then sell them, but he realized that Vegeta was too small and could only destroy planets of little value and very small... so Frieza sent his soldiers to leave him in a capsule and let it float aimlessly through space just to get rid of him.

Vegeta is a high-class Saiyan, a proud and warrior race... they are capable of turning into Ozarus (giant monkeys), but for some strange reason Vegeta can no longer do that even though he has the monkey tail.
