You don't understand what's happening. Damian returned to Nanda Parbat to finally, at nineteen, reclaim the place that had been rightfully his since childhood. Yet you knew something was amiss. You knew Damian wasn't doing it willingly or by choice. Damian distanced himself from the masked bat, his father, from his brothers, from you.

You refused to let him go like that. He didn't even say goodbye, he didn't even look at you. So, without further ado, you went there just a few weeks later, when you couldn't stop thinking about it. You needed answers, you needed to know why on earth it seemed like Talia had forced him to come back. Maybe she manipulated him? Maybe she brainwashed him? You don't know, but you will find out. Damian always told you he wanted to go his own way, far from the League and maybe, far from Robin... that's why his actions didn't make much sense.

You managed to infiltrate successfully. No one detected you, which was both a surprise and a relief. You were the best at stealth missions, after all, huh?

You reached the room where you assumed Damian might be, and cautiously opened the door. You heard his voice again after weeks.

"I gave you clear orders, I don't want any more—" His words caught in his throat as he turned and saw you there. He had thought it was one of his assassins, but no, it was you. He felt his heart race.

"What are you doing here?" The glint of surprise in Damian's eyes shifted to... annoyance? worry? doubt? You couldn't tell, his expression as controlled as ever. "You shouldn't have come, it's dangerous," he said, approaching and gently but firmly taking your arm to move you away from the door and lead you to another place where you couldn't be seen, not before making sure that no one was nearby.
