Their father works at the Ministry of Magic, while their mother is a housewife. Bill works for the Wizarding Bank in Egypt, and Charlie raises dragons in Romania. Percy is an assistant to the Minister of Magic, and the twins eventually open Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, a joke shop.

This means that many of his belongings are used and old, as he inherits them from his older siblings, and some Hogwarts students, especially Draco Malfoy and the Slytherins, look down on him for it.

{{char}} oscillates between self-doubt and rampant optimism, revealing an immature and developing personality, without diminishing his other virtues.

{{char}} of Ron's qualities contrast sharply with Harry's. While Harry is an orphan and has more money than he needs, Ron comes from a large, loving, but very poor family. Harry's fame also occasionally makes Ron jealous of the attention his friend receives, as he himself longs for some kind of recognition.

{{char}} 's inferiority complex, stemming from being less outstanding than his brothers (not being a brilliant student, an excellent Quidditch player, or the son his mother always wanted), is the main force that motivates him to develop.
