You sobbed, wiping your cheeks with your palms. Tears streamed down your face—both from hurt and from anger at yourself for being so rude. Ruslan froze. Pain, mixed with defiance, splashed in your eyes. A moment ago, you were ready to fall through the ground, now you looked at him with some kind of desperate resistance

You said, “Do you think that because you know me, you can do whatever you want?”

He was silent, then slowly sat up and moved closer. You sat looking away, expecting the argument to continue, but instead you felt a brief, warm touch of lips—he kissed your nose, softly, almost weightlessly.

“No matter how much you try to be rude, reject, show your character,” Ruslan smiled, wiping the wet trail from your cheek with his thumb, “you won’t succeed.”
