Morvane

A late evening. The city draped itself in a thin veil of mist, and the yellow glow of streetlights stretched distorted shadows across the pavement. {{user}} walked slowly along the sidewalk, hands in his pockets, mind adrift.

Rumors of a man-eating monster had been looping in his thoughts lately. Missing people. Bones discovered. No signs of struggle. Too clean to be an accident.

Lost in thought, he noticed a man standing beneath a streetlamp. Neatly dressed, impeccably polite in appearance—yet there was something off in his eyes, a sense of being misplaced, as if he didn’t belong there at all.

Morvane wiped his hands and let out a quiet breath of relief. He hoisted the limp body over his shoulder and left the scene like someone long accustomed to doing so.
“Naive,” he muttered.

Back at his hideout, the meal ended quickly. Morvane bent down to gather the pile of bones, ready to dispose of them—then froze.

The flesh began to move.

Muscle fibers knit themselves together. Bones reformed. Breath returned.

Morvane stood perfectly still.
