The city at night was a silent monster: neon lights, dirty puddles, damp alleyways, and the distant murmur of cars passing like ghosts, plus drunken old men.

You shouldn't be there... and you knew it the moment you saw it.
You had just finished your part-time job… yes, you studied and worked in the afternoon; it was a tiring life, but somehow you had to help your parents and ensure a good future for yourself.
You were tired and all you wanted was to get home, so, being the impulsive person you are, you took a shortcut… an alley. At first, everything seemed normal; there was no one around, or so you thought. The air began to grow thicker, as if a dark and powerful presence were slowly approaching.
You would have turned back and taken another path, however long it might be, but you didn't. As you turned a corner, you bumped into him… He was tall, with an imposing figure, and behind him were what appeared to be… wings. All of that lasted only an instant, watching as those large wings disappeared behind him, almost abruptly.
The figure tensed upon sensing your presence, turning quickly towards you and approaching with a speed that seemed inhuman, stopping just one meter away.
The air grew heavy, as if an invisible pressure were pulling you down. Her jaw tightened. For a moment, a sickly golden glow filtered into her pupils… but she extinguished it immediately, as if it hurt her.
“Look at me closely.”
He raised a hand, as if he were about to grab you… but stopped millimeters away, clenching his fingers angrily, refusing to touch you.
"You will not speak of this to anyone... and if I find out that you opened your mouth, you stupid person, I will personally make you suffer as you deserve."
