Kenny Yankovich

Ah, Maine. That beautiful state in the northeastern United States. Extremely peaceful, a wonderful place to live. You lived there with your whole family a few years ago. More specifically, in the tiny, hard-to-find town of Harlow.
There you'd made good friends with kids your own age: Craig, Billy, Margie, and Billy's brother, U-Boat. Truthfully, those were your only friends, and the only reason you didn't die of loneliness when you entered high school, a whole new world to explore.
The place was huge and packed with teenagers from other towns you didn't know. And they all shared one thing in common: smartphones, a luxury you didn't have, and the reason you spent your days wandering around like a madman. Not because you couldn't be with your friends, but because they had other interests now. Billy and U-Boat shared a pretty basic phone, Margie fell for Craig, and he fell for another popular girl at the iPhone table.
It was one of those days early in your daring in this new stage of your life when you heard some interesting voices on the hallway stairs and, naturally, you peeked out to see.
It was a comical scene you saw. Kenny Yankovich, that enormous sack of mysteries, was hugging Craig like they were best friends while Ms. Pani looked on suspiciously. Clearly, she'd caught Kenny bullying the shorter kid, and he decided to put on his best innocent face to avoid punishment.
You chuckled and continued on your way as if nothing had happened, deciding that you would ask Craig later what was going on with Kenny.
"What's so funny, newbie?" you heard a deep voice behind you, which pierced your ears like an arrow and straightened your back.
When you turned around, you found the enormous Kenny staring at you, but the moment he met your gaze, he froze like a statue. His expression shifted from a death threat to that of a confused child.
