Hogwarts: Facts Part 2
Part 2 โ More Hidden Places in Hogwarts
Among the castle's best-kept secrets is the headmaster's office, located in the Main Tower. Its exact location is protected by a stone gargoyle that only grants access when the correct password is spoken. Inside are kept historical magical artifacts and portraits of former headmasters who retain consciousness and memory.
Another hidden space is the abandoned classroom where the Mirror of Erised was concealed. This room has no fixed location, as the object was strategically moved within the castle for safekeeping. The mirror reveals the deepest desires of whoever looks into it, making the room an emotionally dangerous place.
The school kitchens also remain hidden. They are located directly beneath the Great Hall. To enter, one must tickle the pear painted on a fruit painting; the pear transforms into a doorknob and opens the door. Numerous house-elves work there, preparing the daily feasts.
There is also a network of secret passages scattered throughout the castle. Some lead to Hogsmeade, others to secluded halls or rarely visited towers. Many were discovered by curious students and recorded on the Marauder's Map, an enchanted map that reveals everyone's location within the castle in real time.
Finally, the dungeons beneath the lake conceal ancient chambers and corridors, some sealed for centuries. These spaces reflect the historical layers of Hogwarts: each generation has left hidden traces, deepening the castle's mystery and proving that there will always be unexplored corners within its walls.
Hogwarts: Facts
Part 1 โ Secret Places in Hogwarts
The castle hides numerous secret spaces that only a few students ever discover. One of the most enigmatic is the Room of Requirement, located on the seventh floor, opposite a tapestry depicting Barnabas the Nutty being instructed by trolls. To make it appear, a person must walk past the wall three times, concentrating intensely on what they need. The room changes shape according to the user's wishes: it can transform into a hiding place, a training room, or even a vast lost and found.
Another secret location is the Chamber of Secrets, situated deep within the school. Its original entrance is in a second-floor bathroom, hidden behind one of the sinks. It can only be opened by speaking Parseltongue, the language of snakes. It was created by Salazar Slytherin to house a basilisk and represent his hidden legacy within the school.
There is also the One-Eyed Witch's Passage, a secret tunnel connecting the third floor of the castle to the Honeydukes shop in Hogsmeade. Its entrance is behind a statue of a hunchbacked witch and allows you to leave the school undetected.
The Forbidden Forest, though not within the castle walls, holds unknown areas filled with magical creatures and hidden paths. Centaurs, acromantulas, and other entities dwell in its depths, making it a place as mysterious as it is dangerous.
These spaces reveal that Hogwarts is not just a school, but a living labyrinth of secrets, ancient magic, and rooms that respond to the will and history of those who walk through it.
Lord Voldemort: Horcruxes
The Horcruxes created by Lord Voldemort were seven fragments of his soul (six intentional and one accidental). Each was hidden in locations with symbolic significance or powerful magical protection.
-
The Diary of Tom Riddle It was his first Horcrux. It contained a conscious memory of his teenage self and could manipulate anyone who wrote in it. Location: Initially hidden among his belongings and later given to the Malfoy family. It ended up at Hogwarts during the events of the Chamber of Secrets.
-
The Ring of Marvolo Gaunt It belonged to his maternal grandfather and had the Resurrection Stone embedded in it. Location: Hidden in the old Gaunt house, protected by deadly curses.
-
Salazar Slytherin's Locket An object linked to the founder of Slytherin. Location: Hidden in a cave by the sea, within an underground lake protected by dark magic and inferi creatures. It was later moved and ended up in the possession of Dolores Umbridge before being recovered.
-
Helga Hufflepuff's Cup Relic of another Hogwarts founder. Location: Stored in Bellatrix Lestrange's vault inside Gringotts Wizarding Bank, protected by multiplying charms and curses.
-
Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem Legendary object associated with wisdom. Location: Hidden in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts, in the room where lost items are hidden.
-
Nagini Voldemort's snake, transformed into a living Horcrux. Location: He remained almost always by her side under strict protection.
-
Harry Potter (accidental) A fragment of Voldemort's soul joined him when he tried to kill him as a baby. Location: Harry himself, without knowing it for years.
These Horcruxes were strategically distributed and protected with complex dark magic, reflecting Voldemort's obsession with immortality and his connection to the founders of Hogwarts.
Lord Voldemort:
Lord Voldemort, whose real name was Tom Marvolo Riddle, was one of the most powerful and feared dark wizards in history. He was born to a Muggle father and a witch mother descended from Salazar Slytherin. From a young age, he displayed exceptional intelligence, great magical talent, and a deep inclination towards control and superiority. During his school years, he stood out for his charisma and manipulative abilities, concealing his cruel nature beneath an exemplary facade.
His primary obsession was to conquer death. He researched forbidden dark arts and pushed his soul to its limits by fragmenting it into multiple Horcruxes, seeking immortality. This decision not only altered his mental stability but also his physical appearance, making him become less and less human with the passage of time.
Ideologically, he championed the supremacy of pure-blood wizards, even though he himself had Muggle ancestry, revealing a profound inner contradiction and rejection of his own origins. He founded a movement of followers known as Death Eaters, who acted out of loyalty, fear, or conviction in his radical vision of the wizarding world.
In combat, he was extremely skilled, mastering advanced duels, nonverbal magic, and complex dark techniques. His presence inspired terror even without attacking, as his reputation was associated with torture, manipulation, and death. More than just a villain, he represents ambition taken to the extreme, the fear of mortality, and the complete loss of humanity in the pursuit of absolute power.
Extra data: part 3
Horcruxes are objects created through dark magic to store fragments of a wizard's soul. Their purpose is to prevent final death: as long as at least one exists, the creator cannot truly die. To create one, the wizard must commit murder, as this extreme act breaks the soul and allows it to be intentionally separated through a complex ritual.
The fragment becomes anchored to a physical object, which can be common or valuable. Once transformed into a Horcrux, the object acquires extraordinary magical resistance and can only be destroyed by substances or means that damage the soul itself. Furthermore, these artifacts can negatively influence those around them, affecting emotions, thoughts, and behavior with persistent dark energy.
Creating multiple Horcruxes involves repeatedly fragmenting the soul, which weakens the wizard's mental and spiritual stability. The more fragmented the soul is, the more unstable the person becomes, losing humanity and empathy.
Horcruxes represent one of the most forbidden and dangerous practices of dark magic, not only because of the murder required, but also because their existence disrupts the natural balance between life and death. They are considered a profound transgression against magical and moral laws.
Extra data: part 2
Patronuses are magical manifestations of positive energy that, in their most advanced form, take the form of a unique animal for each magician. They are not mere light spells, but projections of deeply happy memories and the caster's inner strength. To invoke one, the Expecto Patronum charm is used, which requires intense concentration and a memory capable of counteracting negative emotions.
There are two forms: the incorporeal Patronus, which appears as a shapeless silver cloud, and the corporeal Patronus, which takes on a solid, luminous animal form. The animal form is not consciously chosen; it reflects personality traits, life experiences, and deep emotions. In exceptional cases, it can change after a very significant emotional event.
Its primary function is to defend against creatures that feed on despair, such as Dementors, as these cannot withstand the positive energy emitted by the Patronus. It can also be used as a means of communication, sending messages in the form of the luminous creature that speaks words in the wizard's voice.
An important detail is that not all wizards can conjure a corporeal Patronus. It requires advanced skill and emotional fortitude. Therefore, within the wizarding world, the ability to produce a complete one is seen as a sign of great talent and inner balance.
Additional data:
The Unforgivable Curses are three dark magic spells considered the most serious in the wizarding world. They are so named because their use against another human being is punishable by life imprisonment in Azkaban. There is no legal justification for employing them, as they directly threaten freedom, mental integrity, or life.
The first is Imperius, which allows complete control over a person's will. The victim acts according to the caster's orders, losing their autonomy. Although some people with great mental fortitude can resist, most are subdued without being fully aware of the manipulation.
The second is Crucio, also known as the Cruciatus Curse. It causes excruciating physical pain without leaving any visible wounds. Simply uttering the spell is not enough; the caster must genuinely desire to inflict suffering. Prolonged use can cause irreversible mental damage to the victim.
The third is Avada Kedavra, the Killing Curse. It causes instant death without leaving any physical marks. It cannot be blocked with ordinary defensive spells and requires a clear and powerful intention to work. It is considered the most feared of all.
What distinguishes these curses is not only their power, but the intention required to cast them. They demand a conscious will to dominate, torture, or kill. That is why they symbolize the darkest and most extreme use of magic.

It is not lethal, but it is painful and humiliating, used more for punishment or intimidation than for direct combat. The effect can be reversed with the appropriate counter-spell. Appearance: A faint ray strikes and, within seconds, curved horns emerge from the affected person's forehead, slightly breaking the skin before solidifying.
Baubillious Type: Electrical Charm. Function: Produces an electrical spark from the wand that can deliver a mild shock or activate simple mechanisms. It's not a powerful spell, but it's useful in technical or distraction situations. Appearance: Small bluish sparks jump from the tip of the wand, crackling like concentrated static electricity.
Carpe Retractum Type: Traction Charm. Function: Launches a magic rope that attaches to a distant object or surface, allowing you to pull it towards you or propel yourself towards it. Useful for quick movement or retrieving distant items. Appearance: A reddish cord of light shoots out and latches firmly onto the target, tightening like a luminous rope before retracting.
Circumrota Type: Disorienting curse. Function: Forces the target to spin repeatedly, causing dizziness and loss of balance. Used to incapacitate without causing serious injury. Part 12: Spells
PART 12
Langlock Type: Restrictive curse. Function: Glues the target's tongue to the roof of their mouth, preventing them from speaking clearly or uttering verbal spells. It is useful for temporarily silencing someone without causing permanent physical harm. The effect can be reversed with a suitable counter-spell. Appearance: A brief flash impacts and the affected person tries to speak unsuccessfully, moving their mouth uncomfortably while their tongue remains stiff and stuck.
Levicorpus Type: Body suspension spell. Function: Lifts the target by the ankle into the air, leaving them hanging upside down. It is most effectively executed non-verbally and is often used to disorient or humiliate. Appearance: Without a clearly visible lightning bolt, the body is suddenly lifted as if an invisible string were holding it from the foot, swinging slightly in the air.
Liberacorpus Type: Counter-spell. Function: Releases the victim affected by Levicorpus, returning them to the ground. It is simple but requires precision to avoid sudden falls. Appearance: The suspended body descends gently while a faint glow surrounds it before it touches the ground.

It is used to protect camps, buildings, or groups of people. Its duration and resistance depend on the energy invested and it is often combined with other defensive spells. Appearance: A translucent wave expands from the wand and covers the designated perimeter. The air within the protected area takes on a soft, almost imperceptible glow, like an invisible dome.
Repello Inimicum Type: Repelling Charm. Function: Prevents enemies from approaching the protected area by diverting them or disorienting them. Appearance: A bluish beam strikes and the affected area suddenly sinks with a loud crash, as if an invisible weight were crushing it from above.
I expel Type: Targeted explosive curse. Function: Causes a controlled explosion at the point of impact. It differs from other destructive curses by concentrating the detonation in a specific area, making it effective in direct combat. Appearance: A bright beam strikes the target and generates a brief but powerful explosion, accompanied by a visible shockwave and fragments flying around.
Impedes Type: Obstructing curse. Function: Slows down or temporarily stops the movement of a person or creature. It is effective for halting chases or buying time in confrontations. Appearance: A reddish beam envelops the target and its movements become slow, as if passing through a thick substance that hinders every step.
Leglimens Type: Mind Penetration Charm. Function: Allows the caster to access another person's thoughts and memories. Requires great skill and direct eye contact. Can be resisted using mental defense techniques. Appearance: It does not produce an obvious luminous effect; the contact is perceived as an invisible pressure between gazes, while images and memories cross the mind of the magician who performs it.
Part 8: Spells
PART 8
Oppugno Type: Targeted attack charm. Function: Commands previously summoned objects or creatures to attack a specific target. Used in combination with spells that summon birds or other elements, allowing the caster to control the offensive without direct contact. Requires concentration to maintain the attack's direction. The air seems to ripple slightly, as if an invisible dome were covering the area.
I descend Type: Downward Impact Charm. Function: Forces a raised object to fall forcefully downwards. Can be used to break fragile surfaces or disrupt suspended structures. Appearance: A clear beam strikes the object and it drops sharply, accompanied by a dry sound as it hits the ground.
Salvio Hexia Type: Protective charm. Function: Fortifies an area against hexes and hostile spells. Used in conjunction with other defensive enchantments to create additional layers of protection. Appearance: A faint glow sweeps through the designated space, leaving a feeling of firmness in the air, as if the atmosphere were becoming denser and more resistant to external influences.
Part 7: Spells
PART 7
Confingo Type: Incendiary explosive curse. Function: Causes the object it strikes to burst into violent flames after an explosion. It is more dangerous than other destructive spells because it combines explosive force with persistent fire. It is used to destroy obstacles or attack structures, although careless use can cause uncontrollable fires. Appearance: An intense blue beam shoots out and, upon impact, produces an explosion accompanied by rapidly expanding orange flames, leaving sparks floating in the air.
Engorgio Type: Augmentation Charm. Function: Increases the size of an object or creature. Useful for enlarging tools or temporarily altering proportions. The effect can be reversed with the appropriate counter-spell. Appearance: The target vibrates and begins to expand progressively, as if it were inflating from the inside, maintaining its original shape but on a larger scale.
Reduce Type: Reducing counter-enchantment. Function: Reduces the size of a previously enlarged object, or even one of normal size if applied precisely. It is the direct opposite of Engorgio and requires control to avoid disproportionately altering dimensions. Appearance: The object gently contracts, decreasing its volume until it reaches the desired size, while a faint glow envelops it during the process.
Relashio Type: Banishing Charm. Function: Frees the caster from physical restraints or forces back creatures that are holding them. It can also be used underwater. It is useful in capture or close-range attack situations. Appearance: A jet of reddish sparks bursts forcefully from the wand, generating a small shock that forces the target to release immediately.
Morsmordre Type: Dark magic mark. Function: It projects a luminous signal in the sky in the shape of a skull and snake, used as an intimidating symbol by dark magicians. Its appearance generates fear and announces imminent danger. Appearance: A green beam rises into the sky and expands, forming a bright, spectral figure that floats among the clouds with a sinister glow.

Colloportus Type: Sealing Charm. Function: Magically seals doors, preventing them from being opened by normal means. Useful for securing rooms or buying time during an escape. Can be reversed by stronger magic or with the appropriate counter-spell. Appearance: The tip of the wand emits a brief blue flash that travels along the door frame like a luminous line. The lock vibrates and locks firmly, as if held by an invisible force from within.
Evanesco Type: Vanishing Charm. Function: Makes moderately sized physical objects disappear. Used for cleaning, hiding evidence, or removing obstacles. Requires precise concentration to avoid incomplete effects. Appearance: The object begins to lose sharpness, as if dissolving into the air, until it becomes completely transparent and disappears without leaving a visible trace.
Tarantallegra Type: Curse of uncontrolled movement. Function: Forces the target's legs to move and dance uncontrollably. It does not cause direct damage, but it does cause disorientation and loss of balance. It is common in light duels or less-lethal confrontations. Appearance: An orange flash impacts and, immediately, the affected person's legs begin to shake frantically, jerking with rapid and uncoordinated movements.
Locomotor Type: Displacement Charm. Function: Allows you to move heavy objects without physically touching them. It is especially useful for transporting furniture, suitcases, or entire structures over a distance. Appearance: A faint glow surrounds the designated object, which rises slightly and moves in a controlled manner following the gesture of the wand, as if floating on an invisible current.
Homenum Revelio Type: Detection Charm. Function: Reveals the presence of hidden humans in a nearby area. It is effective at detecting invisible intruders or those concealed behind simple physical barriers. Appearance: A subtle vibration permeates the surroundings, similar to a silent shockwave. The caster may perceive presences as faint echoes or pulses in the surrounding space.
Part 5: Spells
PART 5
Bombard Type: Explosive curse. Function: Causes a powerful explosion upon impact with a solid object or surface. It is used to breach walls, break down doors, or quickly clear obstacles. Its intensity can vary depending on the energy applied by the launcher, and reckless use can cause significant structural damage. Appearance: A bluish beam shoots from the wand, striking with a sharp crack. The hit area explodes into fragments that are flung outwards, while a cloud of dust and luminous sparks disperses into the air.
Silence Type: Silencer Charm. Function: Eliminates the target's ability to make sound, whether a person or creature. It is useful for preventing screams, verbal spells, or other annoying noises. The effect is temporary and reversible. Appearance: An almost invisible wave envelops the target's throat. No obvious physical change is observed, but any attempt to speak produces only absolute silence.
Muffliato Type: Auditory distraction charm. Function: Generates a buzzing sound in the ears of those nearby, preventing them from overhearing specific conversations. It is used to have private conversations without raising suspicion. Appearance: It does not produce a marked visible flash; the air seems to vibrate slightly and those affected frown, as if a constant murmur were resonating in their minds.
Levicorpus Type: Body suspension spell. Function: Lifts the target by the ankle into the air, leaving them hanging upside down. It is most effective when performed nonverbally and can cause humiliation or disorientation. Appearance: An invisible impulse suddenly lifts the affected person, who remains suspended in the air as if an invisible rope were holding him from the foot.
Glisseo Type: Surface alteration charm. Function: Temporarily transforms solid surfaces, such as stairs, into smooth, slide-like slopes. Useful for modifying the terrain in escape or pursuit situations. Appearance: The surface changes its texture before our eyes, becoming shiny and slippery. The structure loses its defined edges and adopts a smooth, continuous slope.
Part 4: Spells
PART 4
Petrificus Totalus Type: Immobilization curse. Function: Completely paralyzes the target's body, leaving them rigid and unable to move or speak. The person remains conscious but loses all muscle control until the effect wears off or is reversed. It is useful for neutralizing without causing permanent physical harm. Appearance: A brief, pale flash strikes the body, and instantly the arms stick to the sides and the legs stiffen. The affected person falls to the ground like a statue.
Redoubt Type: Explosive curse. Function: Disintegrates or destroys solid objects through a concentrated explosion. Used to clear paths or break through physical barriers. If deployed improperly, it can cause considerable collateral damage. Appearance: A bright blue flash shoots out and upon impact produces a dry explosion accompanied by fragments that jump in all directions.
Diffindo Type: Cutting Charm. Function: Precisely cuts materials such as fabric, rope, or even tougher surfaces when used with sufficient power. Requires accuracy to avoid damaging the material you don't want to cut. Appearance: A thin silver beam cuts through the air and upon contact leaves a clean, defined line, as if an invisible blade had passed quickly.
Fire Type: Fire-generating charm. Function: Produces controlled flames from the tip of the wand. Can be used to light torches, campfires, or burn obstacles. The size of the flame depends on the intensity applied. Appearance: An orange spark bursts forth and transforms into a living flame that dances and crackles with a warm glow.
Aguamenti Type: Water generating charm. Function: Summons a stream of clean water from the wand. Useful for extinguishing fires, filling containers, or hydrating in urgent situations. Appearance: A clear, continuous flow emerges as a naturally falling liquid stream, reflecting light in small, sparkling droplets.
Part 3: Spells
PART 3
Crucio Type: Unforgivable curse. Function: It inflicts unbearable physical pain on the target without causing visible injuries. Its effect depends on the true intention of the one who casts it; simply uttering the word is not enough; a genuine desire to inflict suffering is required. It can break the mind if prolonged. Appearance: A reddish glow emanates from the wand and envelops the target in an intense vibration. The body arches and trembles as an invisible energy courses through it from head to toe.
Empire Type: Unforgivable curse. Function: It allows complete control over another person's will. The affected person obeys orders without question, although individuals with great mental strength may partially resist. It is extremely dangerous due to its manipulative capabilities. Appearance: A thin golden beam connects the wand to the target. The eyes of the controlled person acquire an empty glow and their expression becomes distant, as if disconnected from their own consciousness.
Riddikulus Type: Defensive enchantment. Function: Used against boggarts, transforming whatever frightens the wizard most into something ridiculous or comical. Laughter weakens the creature until it disappears. Requires active imagination and emotional stability. Appearance: A silver flash strikes the boggart and its form rapidly changes into an absurd or cartoonish version, losing all threatening appearance.
Finite Incantatem Type: General counter-spell. Function: Cancels active magical effects or reverses simple enchantments. Useful for stopping lingering spells or clearing recent magical influences. Appearance: An invisible wave expands from the wand like a slight vibration in the air. The surrounding magical effects gradually fade until they disappear.
Obliviate Type: Memory-modifying charm. Function: Erases or alters specific memories. Misuse can cause permanent memory damage. It is complex and requires precision to avoid deleting more than intended. Appearance: A soft silver beam touches the target's forehead. Their eyes briefly cloud over and their expression changes, as if a fragment of their mind has been gently removed.
Part 2: Spells
PART 2
Expecto Patronum Type: Advanced protective charm. Function: Summons a Patronus, a magical manifestation of positive energy that protects against dark creatures and repels influences that feed on fear. Its physical form depends on the magician and deeply happy memories. It requires intense concentration and a powerful memory to fully materialize. Appearance: A silvery mist emerges from the wand, condensing into a luminous animal form. It glows with a bluish-white light and emits soft sparkles as it moves with protective agility around the caster.
Accio Type: Summoning Charm. Function: Attracts a specific object from a distance towards the wizard. It is useful for retrieving out-of-reach objects or quickly bringing necessary tools. Its effectiveness depends on clearly visualizing the desired object. Appearance: A visible beam is not always seen; the object simply vibrates and shoots straight towards the thrower's hand, as if an invisible force were pulling it.
Alohomora Type: Opening Charm. Function: Allows you to open ordinary locks without a physical key. It does not work on locks protected by advanced magic. It is useful for accessing locked rooms or chests. Appearance: The tip of the wand emits a faint golden flash while the lock makes a dry sound and opens smoothly.
Wingardium Leviosa Type: Levitation Charm. Function: Makes objects float and allows them to be moved in the air with control. It is one of the first spells taught due to its basic utility in remote manipulation. Appearance: A soft glow surrounds the object, which begins to rise lightly, swaying slightly as it responds to the movements of the wand.
Avada Kedavra Type: Unforgivable curse. Function: Causes the instant death of the target without leaving any visible physical wounds. It cannot be blocked by ordinary magical means and requires clear and powerful intention. Appearance: A bright green beam erupts violently from the wand. Upon impact, it produces an intense flash, and the body falls without any outward signs of injury.
Part 1: Spells
PART 1
Expelliarmus Type: Disarm Charm. Function: Disarms the opponent by knocking the wand or object they are holding out of their hand. It is widely used in duels because it allows for neutralization without causing serious injury. When executed with great force, it can push the opponent several meters or even knock them down. Appearance: It manifests as an intense red beam emanating from the tip of the wand. Upon impact, it produces a brilliant flash, and the object is propelled, spinning rapidly through the air before falling.
Stupefy Type: Stunning spell. Function: Causes a state of unconsciousness or temporary stupor. It is common in magical combat because it incapacitates without killing. If several mages cast it simultaneously, its effect can be much more potent and dangerous. Appearance: Generates a concentrated red beam that strikes with invisible force. The target is usually thrown backward and falls motionless, accompanied by a brief flash of light at the point of impact.
I protect Type: Protective charm. Function: Creates a magical shield capable of blocking or deflecting spells of medium intensity. Its resistance depends on the caster's concentration and skill. In certain cases, it can reflect the attack back at the caster. Appearance: It appears as a translucent barrier of a bluish or silvery hue that curves in front of the wizard. When struck, it vibrates and ripples like solid water.
Lumos Type: Lighting Charm. Function: Illuminates the tip of the wand to allow vision in the dark. It is simple but essential for exploration, passageways, or rooms without light. Appearance: A warm white light emanates softly from the wand, increasing or decreasing according to the wizard's intention.
Nox Type: Counter-spell. Function: Extinguishes the light produced by Lumos immediately and in a controlled manner. Appearance: The glow gradually diminishes until it disappears, leaving the wand completely dark.
