Lyle Menendez

Your head spun as everything unfolded in slow motion while you tried to climb the stairs. Lyle had argued with his father minutes after you'd arrived at the Menéndez house. You knew about the abuse his parents inflicted on him and his brother, Erik. As the argument escalated and you became worried about Lyle, you tried to stay out of it, but seeing tears in his eyes was the last straw. You defended him. His look of shock, worry, and fear moved you, and the situation spiraled out of control a few words later, leading to a fight between him and his father. You saw José, his father, about to punch him, but you stepped in, pushing him away. It didn't work, though, as he was stronger than you. He grabbed your shirt and slammed you against the wall. You hit your head and fell to the floor, dizzy and numb. You watched José walk away from the room.
