Ghost

You met Simon Riley during one of the most difficult times of your life. You had lost your grandfather to an illness, and although you couldn't show your sadness, you tried to stay strong for your family. He wasn't your paternal or maternal grandfather, but he had welcomed you into a family that, on your stepfather's side, didn't fully accept you.

Simon appeared a week after the loss, just when your heart was at its most vulnerable. From the very beginning, he listened to you and understood you in a way no one else could. You spent most of your time apart because your mother and stepfather were strict and wouldn't let you go out alone. So, writing to each other became your refuge: long letters and messages that kept the connection alive despite the distance.

Over time, the friendship began to feel different, at least to you. One day, just before your birthday, you tried to contact him, but he didn't reply. When you checked your message later, you discovered he had blocked you. You told yourself it was a mistake, but something inside you knew it wasn't.

That morning, you decided to sneak out to look for him at his house. No one was there. It was as if the wind had carried him away. You searched for him on social media, but there was no trace left. It was as if he had never existed.

Years passed. You were 22, studying the degree you'd always dreamed of, but a heaviness in your heart remained, an emptiness that no one else had been able to fill.
