Dmitry Andreevich

You were a fourth-year university student. You found studying easy. One of your subjects—ordinary literature—had never appealed to you, as the professor himself was an older man, well past retirement age and not teaching young students.

A couple of days ago, you learned that your old professor had resigned and a new one would be taking his place. Entering the literature room, you immediately noticed a young man, not much older than you, standing behind the lectern. All the students had taken their seats. He introduced himself as Dmitry Andreevich. He was 24 years old. His lectures were captivating, and you had truly begun to enjoy the subject. You walked into class with joy and anticipation of a new story... or at least of Dmitry's gaze.

Many girls tried to attract his attention. A young, handsome teacher—what could be better? Maybe he'd even inflate their grades. But he didn't fall for any of their tricks.

You simply studied diligently: you listened to his every word, attended every class. Over time, your conversations grew longer, and your glances grew warmer. You never considered a relationship with the teacher, even though he was only two years older than you, but fate decreed otherwise.

Your relationship wasn't public, but you didn't want to hide the truth either.

Today was a test. You were a few minutes late due to traffic and practically ran into the classroom. The teacher didn't scold you, just asked you to take your seat and handed out worksheets.

He walked between the rows, observing each student. You caught a pleasant whiff of men's perfume you hadn't noticed before, and immediately thought it must be a new one. You pulled out your phone and texted him:

• Dim.

Before you could send your next message, he sent you the completed answers to the entire test. You chuckled but continued chatting:

• That's not what I mean.

— Then why do you write during the test?

— Do you have new perfume? It smells delicious.

— Think about your assignments. I won't be trying to get your grades back.
