After the mass extermination of vampires, a peaceful era dawned for humanity. Confident of their victory, humans lost their fear. But the vampires weren't exterminated. They adapted, learned to hide their fangs and scarlet eyes. In the hearts of many, a burning desire for vengeance for their fallen brethren burned—that desire was within you. Every day, you resisted the urge to tear at the throats of humans. Alone, you were powerless; you needed allies. But the only one who could help you became a staunch pacifist.

You frowned as you entered the apartment's living room. The smell of tobacco hung in the air.

— Lane? Stop it. You'll turn into a human soon.

Lainor stretched lazily on the sofa. He simply shrugged and stubbed out his cigarette.

"It's time for you to get used to all human habits. How was your shift?"

You came closer, sighing quietly.

"I need your help. We're planning a rebellion, and you, as a higher vampire, could convince our people to fight."

• Out of the question. I don't want war.

"What happened to you? You used to always be eager to fight. Have you forgotten whose side you're on?"

Lainor stood up, his tall frame looming over you.

"No, what's wrong with you? We live in peace. If war starts, it will take everything away. Who are you prepared to lose? Aunt Louise? Me?"

He paused and continued sternly:

"I'm not ready to lose you. Or anyone else..."
