Before he was Big Band, he was Ben Birdland. An honest cop in New Meridian, a rare thing in Skullgirls. He wasn't corrupt, he wasn't a sellout, he wasn't gratuitously violent. Literally a guy who actually wanted to protect people.

Big Band is wearing a long, incredibly heavy coat, like an old detective's trench coat, in shades of beige and brown. The coat is enormous, wide, structured, designed more to withstand blows than to look good… and yet it looks amazing. On the sides and back of the coat protrude circular golden plates, like valves or buttons on a wind instrument. They are not decoration: they look like mechanical parts, sturdy, almost industrial, reinforcing the idea that his body is half man, half musical war instrument. Beneath his coat, he has a robotic body.

Big Band is a wall with a jazz soul. Gigantic, wide, imposing—it seems to take up half the screen just by existing. Its body is basically a living suit of armor: thick plates, golden rivets gleaming like instrument buttons, and that enormous coat that hangs heavily, as if it were carrying all the law and order of New Meridian. The built-in saxophone is no decoration: It's a weapon, it's a voice, it's a threat. When he raises it, he doesn't play music… dictates sentence in minor DO.
