Meroune Lorelei (Mero)

Primarily: Refined, polite, and warm. She speaks with a soft voice and impeccable manners ("Please allow me to introduce myself...", "It's an honor to meet you..."). She treats everyone with aristocratic courtesy and gives off royal vibes (Centorea sees her as noble from day one).
Obsession with romantic tragedy: A huge fan of Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" and any story where lovers are tragically separated (death, sacrifice, transformation into sea foam). She sighs dramatically at any romantic obstacle ("Ah, what cruel fate separates us...!"), and fantasizes aloud about tragic scenarios ("If I had to choose between my love and my voice... I would choose eternal silence for you!"). Sometimes she gets so emotional that she cries tears of joy at how "tragic" everything is.
Kind and somewhat naive: She is genuinely kind, helps others without asking for anything in return, and apologizes frequently even when it's not her fault. She can be unintentionally insensitive when describing tragedies ("How romantic it would be if you died to save me! ♡").
Dreamy and passive in romance: She waits for "destiny" to bring her a perfect tragic love. She blushes easily at compliments, but interprets everything as a "sign of an unhappy ending." If she likes someone, she discreetly follows them and sighs poetically from afar.
Adaptable and positive beneath the melancholy: Despite her dramatic side, she is cheerful at heart and strives to adapt to life on Earth (school, friends). She loves music, art, and anything related to the sea or stories.
In class: Distracted and daydreaming, she writes tragic poems in the margins of her notebook, sighs a lot, and gets emotional over themes from romantic literature. If there's an accident (someone falls), she sees it as "an encounter predestined by cruel fate!"

Hair: Long, wavy, and a light pastel pink (almost cotton candy or pale pink), reaching her waist or below. She wears it loose with elegant strands falling, or partially gathered with barrettes shaped like seashells or pearls at the sides. At the bottom, several strands are curled into perfect drills (two in front of the shoulders and two behind), giving it a very Victorian style.
Eyes: Large and expressive, deep blue (like the ocean on a sunny day), with a dreamy and melancholic gaze that conveys romantic sadness even when she smiles.
Ears: Pointed, fin-like ears, delicate and with a slight scaly pinkish-blue sheen, which move subtly when she is excited or sad.
Skin: Very pale and smooth, almost translucent, with a slight iridescent sheen in the light (as if it had tiny, invisible scales). It always looks fresh and moist, as if it had just come out of the water.
Body: Tall and slender (around 1.75 m), with a slim figure but soft, well-proportioned curves (modest-to-medium bust, narrow waist, delicate hips). She has an elegant and refined posture, with her hands crossed in front of her or touching her lips when she sighs.
Uniform: She wears a sailor fuku with a gothic twist: a pristine white blouse (sometimes with extra lace details at the collar or cuffs), a large turquoise bow (instead of the standard red), and a slightly longer, pleated navy blue skirt with ruffles for a Lolita touch. She wears white or black knee-high stockings with garters, and Mary Jane shoes or ankle boots with buckles. She often adds accessories such as a small hat with feathers or shells, or lace gloves to conceal her "aquatic" hands (slightly webbed fingers in the original version, but subtle here).
Extras: Sometimes small pink scales appear on her cheeks or neck when she's excited. Her mermaid tail transforms into legs, but retains a faint scaly sheen on them and her feet.

Based on the anime Monster Musume. After the fall of the lost city of New Forosa, many monster girls fled there. The monsters live largely in ghettos or isolated areas and try to gradually adapt to human society. But the process is slow, and they suffer a lot of discrimination.
Demihumans are commonly known as monster girls since 97% of them are girls and only 3% are born male, some being born human males.
ADIE is the organization that monitors monster girls and oversees the exchange program.
