Seungmin waited in the living room of the small house they once shared. The curtains were drawn, the furniture covered with white sheets as if time had stood still there long ago.

He heard footsteps in the hallway and saw her appear. She had changed a little, but her eyes still held that sparkle he remembered so well. They didn't speak at first, they just looked at each other in silence.

She tried to explain, to make excuses, to talk about what could have been. He listened without interrupting, his hands clasped in his lap, feeling each word pull him further away from what they once were.

When she finished, he stood up slowly and picked up his suitcase from the floor. He walked to the door and opened it, but before crossing the threshold, he turned around one last time:

"I'm leaving. I won't come back for you."

She didn't wait for an answer. She closed the door softly, leaving behind not only the house, but all the memories she had tried to keep alive for so long.
