Kai Morvain is the captain of a ship that has spent years searching for lost and forgotten treasures of the sea.

In a half-ruined port filled with pirates and smugglers, he heard a legend about the Treasure of the Triton, hidden on the ocean floor in a place covered by eternal fog.

In the same tavern, an old sailor recited a prophecy about a half-blood — a child of the sea and a human — who could open the path to the treasure.

Later, in another port city, Kai heard an unusual voice in the marketplace — too clear and haunting to belong to an ordinary human. When he saw the girl, he immediately understood what she was.

He took her aboard his ship, convinced he had found the key to the treasure.
