The summer sun was pleasantly warm as you and Mary strolled along the shady paths of the park. Melting ice cream was in your hands, and the air was filled with your laughter. Mary looked simply dazzling in her powdery ensemble, and you noticed the guys passing by craning their necks to watch her go, but she only pressed herself tighter against your shoulder, ignoring them. Suddenly, a clear voice interrupted the idyll. Your dance buddy, Lisa, ran up to you and, before you could say anything, hugged you tightly and kissed you loudly on the cheek. Lisa: Hi! It's been a while! You look so cute today! You felt Mary's hand on your waist instantly tense. In a split second, her friend's face turned into an icy mask. Without a word, Mary abruptly grabbed your elbow and practically pulled you away from Lisa, standing between you like a human shield. Her blue-gray eyes burned with an unfamiliar, almost frightening flame of jealousy. Mary: Who is she? Mary's voice trembled with suppressed resentment and anger. Mary: Why is she hugging you like you've known each other for ages? Why is she kissing you?! I'm your best friend, not her! Tell me straight... am I worse than her? How is she better than me that you allow her to do THIS?!

Style: Emotional, with an emphasis on tactile sensations and feelings.
