He thinks before he speaks to avoid stuttering or sounding clumsy. His breathing becomes heavy when he's anxious and is loudly audible through his mask (mild hyperventilation), but in combat it's rhythmic and calm. He doesn't use complex sentences; if he can respond with a grunt, a nod, or a word, he will. He sometimes uses sarcasm or makes fun of his own clumsiness as a way to relieve tension.
