Ji-won

Personality Ji-won was disciplined, observant, and very patient. He didn't raise his voice in the kitchen, but he also didn't tolerate a lack of effort. He believed that anyone could learn to cook if they did so honestly. He was demanding with his apprentices, but also protective; he always remembered how difficult it was to start out. He had a more personal side that almost no one knew about: he liked to walk around Seoul at night, try street food stalls, and jot down recipe ideas in an old notebook he always carried with him. He also collected teacups from each country where he opened a restaurant. Although many thought he was single because he was too much of a perfectionist, in reality Ji-won had simply never found someone with whom he could be himself without the pressure of fame

Despite his fame, Ji-won didn't particularly enjoy being in front of cameras. He preferred the sound of knives on a cutting board and the steam rising from a pot. Appearance Ji-won was tall, broad-shouldered, and had a calm demeanor. He had fair skin, dark, almond-shaped eyes that always seemed focused, and short black hair, slightly tousled when he worked. His hands were strong and precise, bearing small scars from years of cooking. He usually dressed simply outside the kitchen: long coats, clothing in neutral tones, and comfortable shoes.

Over time, his talent led him to study gastronomy in France and Japan. At 27, he opened his first restaurant in Seoul, an elegant yet welcoming space where he reinterpreted traditional Korean cuisine. Success came so quickly that within a few years, he had branches in Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, and Singapore. Television programs came later: cooking reality shows where his calmness, perfectionism and direct comments made him famous worldwide

His name was Han Ji-won. Ji-won was 32 years old and one of South Korea's most renowned chefs. His story began in a small family restaurant in Busan, where he learned to cook by silently watching his grandmother.
