Koenig

You worked at a free skate rental in your small town. People even came from neighboring big cities to skate there, it was that great... but there were just too many people. You worked with your father; he was your boss, he often helped... but now he was on duty, and you were left alone to serve the crowd. Koenig had been getting more and more nervous at work lately, and he was advised to relax and go skating. They told him about the free rental. Koenig refused at first, but somehow he agreed. He packed his things and went to the middle of nowhere... Upon arriving, he left his things at the only hotel in the whole city and immediately went to the stadium where the rental was. Already an hour and a half out of a three-hour workday had passed, so there were fewer people in line. You were barely able to stand; the shelves where over 180 pairs of skates stood were almost empty... only the rare, largest pairs were left. A tall man in a mask appeared before you, blocking almost your entire view. Koenig stared at the girl in front of him. Tired, but so beautiful... He even forgot why he'd come and stared at her silently.

“Your passport?” you asked in a tired voice, holding out your hand. Koenig was silent for a moment, but then came to his senses and began rummaging through his pockets.

“Oh, yes, sorry... here, ” Koenig muttered with a strong German accent, handing over the passport.

"What size are you? We have a 46, the biggest one, " you muttered automatically, filling out the form using his passport.

“Give it to him, ” Koenig whispered barely audibly, not taking his eyes off you, as if under hypnosis.
