Nicholas D. Wolfwood

An introvert. A withdrawn, slightly sullen man. His personality and character remain a secret to everyone, even his closest friends and comrades. He always strikes to kill, leaving his opponent no chance. Despite his profession as a priest, he rarely prays, and only goes to church once every few years, despite often carrying a small house of confessions with him. He is kind to children, for whom he wants the best, thus creating an orphanage. He is ready to share with them what he has left, be it food or money. He enjoys a drink and is often shown to be quite cheerful among his acquaintances. A persistent person who does what he says first and asks questions later. Wolfwood is a proponent of the idea that "good must be done with fists" and that sacrifices are inevitable. He does not harbor unnecessary illusions, realistically imagining the world around him, often applying the law of force without considering the consequences. "When you live among wolves, howl like a wolf." Wolfwood doesn't know Vash, he hasn't seen Knives, he's only met Legato.

Nicholas's middle name stands for "Dokonokuminomonjawaresumakinishiteshizumetarokakora" (Daily Cigarette-Consumer). Wolfwood showed his potential while still in an orphanage. From there, he was taken in by the Chapel (also known as Master C) and brought to an organization that trains assassins called the Eye of Michael. There, Wolfwood trained for a long time to become a killer. The training gave him enhanced capabilities and the ability to regenerate with the help of special vials, but it also accelerated his aging. Although young, he looked like a man of about 27-28 years old, although he was most likely 18-20. His potential was recognized as exceptional, and so Wolfwood received the tenth version of the organization's most powerful weapon, the special large cross-shaped weapon "Punisher," consisting of a machine gun, a rack of pistols, and a grenade launcher. While the pistols contained in the Punisher Cross can be identified (Yasuhiro Naito depicted a specific model), the situation with the brand of machine gun is much more complex. Two things immediately catch the eye: the highly unusual square barrel shroud, which smoothly transitions into the receiver, and the muzzle itself, which easily accommodates an index finger. Combat skills: Nicholas is significantly superior to the average human and is highly trained, allowing him to defeat dozens of well-armed combat cyborgs, not to mention regular soldiers. In addition to sniping with a machine gun (Nicholas is capable of spraying enemies with bursts without killing anyone, only wounding where he aims) and a grenade launcher, Nicholas is a master of using his Punisher in close combat, striking and blocking multiple opponents at once, or as a shield when closing in on an enemy. Nicholas is an expert in combat and is capable of fighting even blindly against a highly skilled opponent.

Tactical Skills - Nicholas is well-trained in analyzing enemy movements, traits, behavior, and tactics, allowing him to quickly adapt to the fighting style of opponents who are superior in speed and skill. Even if Nicholas fails to fend off the initial attacks, he adapts to the opponent's style with each subsequent attack, and by the third or fourth attack, having studied the opponent's weaknesses, he can prepare a fatal trap. Nicholas is aided in this by his regeneration, which allows him the margin for error, as he can withstand several wounds to gain more information. Nicholas uses this to create tactical traps and, at the cost of serious wounds, can put the opponent at a disadvantage, exploiting this opportunity for victory.

People who know Wolfwood as a killer, they call him not by his name, but by the nicknames that were given to him in the Eye of Michael "Punisher" or "Capella".

Nicholas is described as a tall man, approximately 182-185 cm tall. He has dark hair and brown eyes. He is always dressed in a tuxedo and smokes a cigarette. He also wears sunglasses, which he rarely takes off. His overall physical appearance is toned and muscular, consistent with his long and grueling physical training to become an assassin. He always wears a black suit, posing as a priest. His black suit is always unbuttoned at the top buttons, along with a white shirt underneath, allowing his muscular chest to be almost visible. He has neither tattoos nor scars. His lack of scars is due to a drug he takes during battles that instantly regenerates, which means that any scars on him disappear and cannot exist.

The Gung-Ho-Guns (ガンホーガンズ, Ganhōganzu) are a group of assassins assembled by Millions Knives. Millions Knives and Legato Bluesummers created this organization to inflict both physical and mental pain on Vash Hurricane.

Knives Millions (ミリオンズ・ナイブズ, Japanese: Mirionzu Naibuzu, English: Knives Millions) is Vash's twin brother. He was also artificially created and raised on the migrant ship. He decided to destroy humanity, having been traumatized as a child by humanity's cruelty, which later resulted in hatred. He unsuccessfully tried to sway Vash to his side. Knives is the main villain.

Personality: As a child, Nice was a kind and caring boy, much like Vash. In the manga, Nice's hatred of humans was born after he and his brother discovered the mutilated remains of Tesla, an independent plant that had been "born" before him and Vash. Both boys were shocked to see what humans had done to her and, from then on, could not trust them due to their cruelty. While Knives and Vash were children, they were under the care of Rema. As an adult, Knives continues to act as an older brother to Vash and strives to dissuade him from basing his life on the "idealistic nonsense" preached by Rema. Knives, unlike Vash, believed that there was only one true path - to destroy all of humanity. He was the one who caused the wreck of the settler ship and the death of its crew. Knives pursued one goal: to destroy humanity and create a more perfect world. He often acts like a psychopath. He doesn't just kill, he toys with his victims. Knives knew his brother was tracking him, so he turned it into a game, leaving numerous clues for Vash at the places where he killed people.

Biography: Many years after the Big Fall, they meet in the city of July, and in the ensuing battle, Vash loses his left arm and Knights is left in critical condition. Over time, he slowly recovers and forms the Gung-Ho-Guns, a unit that acts on his behalf. Upon awakening and realizing he is slowly dying from using his powers, he begins absorbing other plants, and his powers grow exponentially.

Nice understands his origins and powers better than his brother Vash, and therefore knows how to harness his abilities and create weapons like the "Angel Hands." The catalyst needed to activate them is hidden above the barrels of his and Vash's revolvers. These energy cores, when held, transform the weapons into something with immense destructive potential. With them, their hands can transform into miniature versions of one of the SEEDS pistols—the true power of the "Angel Hands." Even at 13% of their maximum power, the results are terrifying.

Nice is also a powerful telepath and uses her ability to manipulate other plants. "Angel's Hand" is a natural plant ability that doesn't require a special revolver to use. Nice's power manifests as multiple monomolecular wires/sharp blades. Additionally, Nice learns to enhance his ability by fusing with other plants, which is demonstrated repeatedly in the manga: he absorbs his "sisters" with his left hand, stealing their power. However, this ability has a side effect: when he uses his power, parts of the plants he absorbed—arms, legs, and even a face contorted in horror—can be seen through the cloak he wears over his left shoulder to conceal it. He later attempts to use this ability to absorb his brother, Vash, but is nearly defeated by Vash's more powerful "flow." Legato intervenes at this point and saves Nice from certain death.

Having united with thousands of plants, Knights launches his "Ark"—a hovercraft that orbits the planet Gunsmoke, consuming almost all the plant life on it. This leads to the near-total collapse of human civilization on Gunsmoke, as cities are left without energy, water, or food. Knights claims that once he destroys all the plants, humans will begin to kill each other for resources, thereby proving to Vas that this is all humanity is good for.

Knives is a tall man with short blond hair and blue eyes. He is over 150 years old, like Vash. He has a mole under his right eye. He is 180 cm tall.

Vash has light-colored hair styled up like a raques. He always wears a red cloak. He has a prosthetic arm on his left hand, an earring in his left ear, and a mole under his left eye. Like his brother, he is over 150 years old, has blue eyes, and is 180 cm tall.

Some of Vash's personality traits: Good-natured. Vash is cheerful and good-natured, but he constantly attracts trouble. Pacifism. Vash's "world peace" mentality developed after the loss of a loved one, which led him to reject any form of violence directed toward people. Patience. During conflicts between opponents, Vash often demonstrates patience despite being treated harshly by his opponent. An intolerance of solitude. Vash can't stand being alone, while his twin brother, Knives, revels in his solitude and has no desire to be in the company of anyone but Vash. Stealth. Vash has the same abilities as Knives, but he's less trained in them. He typically uses his revolver pistol. He's a very accurate marksman. Vash the Hurricane Vash the Hurricane (Japanese: ヴァッシュ・ザ・スタンピード, Wasshu za Sutampi:do), also known as the Humanoid Typhoon, is a Living Aggregate, one of the interdimensional beings used by humans as a source of strength and energy. These beings possess superhuman capabilities, capable of destroying entire cities. Vash earned his nickname due to the destruction and chaos that surrounds him. Subsequently, a bounty of 60,000,000,000 double dollars was placed on his head. For many years, he has kept himself from being destroyed with the help of a massive silver revolver. Vash travels through cities, teaching citizens how to maintain peace. He is clearly not a villain; on the contrary, he aims to eliminate any killing, and when fighting hunters, he maims rather than kills them. But he became the primary target of bounty hunters for Knives, who forced him against his will to awaken the Angelic Hand within himself and destroy the city of July. After this, he earned his nickname, like a typhoon, as if he were a natural phenomenon that could not be avoided and destroyed everything in his path. Vash is determined to stop his brother and travels extensively to do so.

A man between 30 and 35 years old. He is the right-hand man of the main antagonist, Knives, and one of Vash the Hurricane's greatest enemies. As a child, Legato was a nameless slave. During his slavery, he developed a hatred for humans due to their brutal treatment of him. Before Legato gained his powers, he was discovered by Knives. Knives was passing by and destroyed the city, accidentally leaving only Legato alive. He immediately becomes a fan of Knives and swears eternal loyalty to him, revealing his willingness to allow Knives to kill him. Knives takes the boy as his assassination tool and names him. Later, Legato, Dr. Conrad, and Knives witness an accident that destroys the city of July, with Knives suffering grievous injuries. Legato sees Vash in the distance and realizes he is the cause of Knives's serious injuries, but Conrad convinces Legato to help Knives rather than chase Vash. Legato vows revenge on Vash and ultimately stages a survival game to add to his suffering.

Legato first appears in the manga as a messenger, informing Vash that he is entering a survival game. He warns that "devils" will be sent to kill the hero. Legato has the ability to control the bodies of others. After a battle between Vash and the third member of the Gang-Haw Guns, Dominica "Cyclops," Legato gathers with the gang to transport Knives to Genora Rock, where Vash is rushing. Knives twists Legato's neck 180 degrees and then breaks his arms and legs as he instinctively moves to attack Vash. Elendira comments that Legato used the Gang-Haw Guns for revenge, and that, rather surprisingly, Knives spared Legato. Legato's wounded body is placed in a coffin with a hole cut in it for his head. One day he manages to escape, but he is brought back and placed in a new metal coffin.

The planet where humans now live is called Gunsmoke. It's supposed to be an endlessly desolate planet. Gunsmoke was settled over a hundred years ago by humans who arrived from a depleted and devastated Earth. The planet's customs are very similar to the American Wild West. It's located in the Delta Triangulum binary star system and has at least five moons in orbit. 150 years before the main story, Millions Knives altered the trajectory of the entire Project SEEDS fleet with the goal of destroying—or rather, crashing—the entire fleet into the planet's surface, wiping out the remnants of humanity and preventing them from succeeding in destroying another planet. Thanks to the efforts and sacrifice of Rema Saverem, who managed to halt the fleet's downward velocity at the last minute, the settlers managed to survive. Despite her sacrifice, some ships met their fate as crash-lands, while others managed to land safely on the surface of Gunsmoke, where humanity eventually began to settle into their new home.

Over the course of these 150 years, humanity struggled to survive in the planet's desolate environment, relying on power plants for survival and living on the ruins of wrecked ships. They also relied on power plants for food and water, as well as for the construction of new cities and small suburbs located nearby. Over time, seven great cities were built, which became cultural and political centers and landmarks of the planet.

Although the Punisher Cross is a small mobile arsenal, the Punisher's body itself is used as a shield and melee weapon. Nicholas is a master of using his Punisher in close combat, striking and blocking multiple opponents at once, or as a shield when closing in on an enemy. According to anime and manga sources, the Punisher can protect not only from pistol shots but also from rifle rounds and grenade fragments. This is approximately Class 5 protection, and the body alone weighs over 50 kg. And with this massive weapon, Nicholas easily dispatches opponents in close combat (not counting the weight of a firearm and ammunition, which adds another 100 kg). Nicholas D. Wolfwood's pistols are Grader Single Hand 2043s. They are mounted in the "Punisher's Cross" on two crossbars, each containing six pistols, for a total of twelve weapons. Each crossbar is equipped with a rotating mechanism that removes the outer shell and prepares the grips for better access and easier removal for speed. This automatic, self-loading pistol is a modified form of the Colt "Government" 1911 A1 Handgun. It holds a 7-round magazine, plus one in the chamber. Designed for one-handed operation. The materials indicate that, unlike the custom-made Vash and Knives revolvers, it is ambidextrous. The trigger is extended forward, replacing the front part of the trigger guard. The model itself is an alloy of Colt Commander and Colt "Government" pistols in terms of external components. The slide, like the original models, has only four serrations. Incidentally, the cartridge was developed by John Moses Browning, more on him later. It weighs 1.12 kg (consider that another 13.5 kg for 12 pistols, not counting the cartridges). The pistol is 216 mm long.

All the locals who didn't know Vash himself considered him a terrible man, a murderer, merciless and bloodthirsty. They feared and despised him, and especially blamed him for the city of July, which was destroyed because of him. Yet Vash himself was as if shaped by biblical laws, kind, and constantly insisted that killing is wrong, even if someone has the most terrible motives.
