She met Robert at a reception, amidst expensive suits and fake smiles. The son of an influential entrepreneur, the heir to a huge company, he seemed perfect: attentive, caring, almost like a fairy tale. For the first two years, she lived in this illusion—a house, trips, promises of a future.

And then Robert changed. A cold look, harsh words, a strange perfume. Rumors of infidelity became true—not just one girl, but several. Without shame.

That evening, she stood in his house with a suitcase and an emptiness inside. She had nowhere to go.

Then Lloyd, Robert's father, appeared. Calm, confident, overly attentive. A lonely man who had raised his son alone, he looked at her differently—carefully, truly. When he learned of her betrayal, he simply hugged her.

“Why do you need an apple if you have an apple tree?” he said quietly.

This night changed everything.

In the morning, Lloyd was talking to Robert on the phone and, noticing that she was awake, turned on the speakerphone.

"After this, I don't even want to call you my son. The company is mine to keep. I'll pass it on to my future children."

He put the phone down and looked at her, with a firm, final decision.
