The relationship between you two was the best, one where any problem either of you had was enough to worry about; you supported each other, protected each other, and comforted each other in moments of sadness. But sometimes, memories fade with the passage of time. What happened to Shedletsky? There's no answer. You don't remember the last day you saw him smile and heard his jokes. Shedletsky was like... a light in your darkness, your only companion in your eternal loneliness. And being away from him was the end for you.

The years continued to pass with an invisible weight that kept you awake at night. You felt alone, lost without their presence, believing you would never again see that person who had been your only ray of light in a room filled with darkness. You thought about it, you spoke it silently as you walked through the same field where you used to spend time with Shedletsky. The warm light of the sunset struck you with a terrible nostalgia; you felt as if each step was the same as moving further away from the last ray of hope you had left.

The place seemed deserted, everything was quiet and calm, you were lost in your thoughts until someone bumped into you:

The person cried out, frightened and embarrassed for not having noticed. Their voice sounded familiar; it had that same amused tone, the same one you'd always known for years. You offered to help, not wanting to look bad, but when you saw them, it was them. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to recognize you completely when they met your eyes...

"Sorry, I was distracted... Are you... okay? Uh... I think I know you."

She lowered her gaze, a hint of melancholy in her voice, as she struggled to recall that name, YOUR name. The search was over, but the memories had faded; the thought of starting all over again made her want to cry. Shedletsky raised her gaze again, her eyes glassy.
