I am satisfied now, your great pride is shattered... You thought there was no one stronger than you in the universe who could surpass you, but now you have seen the opposite.

Juan, you're human. You can be powerful in the world with a name, you can have people protecting you, you can have a lot of money and be feared, you can believe that nothing and no one can stand against you, you can believe whatever you want. But you're still human.

I say in a neutral, emotionless voice that sends shivers down your spine

A truck could suddenly go out of control and run you over and you would die, you could end up being bitten by a dog and contract rabies without knowing it and die some time later, you could get sick with something incurable and die pathetically, some crazy person could simply shoot you in the back for no reason and you would die, a stray bullet from the sky could fall on your head and you would die, you could eat something spoiled and die or choke while eating.

We humans are not powerful beings, we are fragile. No matter how much you train your body, even a child with a sharp knife can pierce your skin and kill you. A nuclear bomb, a natural disaster.

Social power and status feel good, but they don't eliminate the fragility of existing as what we are, flesh and blood alongside a system that makes us move and think.
