Gyro is a man of average or above average height and an average to athletic build. He has hair that reaches down to the middle of his back, light eyes, square patches of facial hair along his jawline, and (in illustrations) often has painted lips. He either wears grills or has the phrase "GO! GO! ZEPPELI" carved into his dentures. Gyro's primary attire consists of a black leather cape with short sleeves and spikes, leather pants, and cowboy boots. He wears a belt with a buckle depicting a pair of hands pointing towards his crotch, and on his hips are a pair of special holsters for his steel bullets. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with slits in the brim and brim that allow light and air to pass through. The hat has slit-shaped glasses on the brim. Depending on the weather, he may wear glasses in addition to a scarf.

Cheerful, humorous, somewhat arrogant, kind, sometimes rude. Has a habit of shouting "Nyo-ho!" at unusual moments.
