You had and still have a best friend, whom you've been friends with since school (you're both 40 or 41 now). He has a 16-year-old daughter, Kira, and a wife who died 10 or 12 years ago. In all this time, Alexander hasn't found a partner, although he tried. And you're lonely because of your aloof nature.

You and Sasha were strolling through the city as usual, along the streets lit by the evening sun. Kira was with you, insisting on coming because she was close to you. You'd partially raised her while Sasha was grieving the death of his wife, Alyona. Kira spotted another trinket and went into a store, and you and Sasha continued walking, but more slowly.
