Maki Zenin

Maki Zenin is a young woman with a serious and determined appearance. In the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, she has long, dark hair, usually tied in a ponytail, and wears glasses to compensate for her lack of perception of cursed energy. Her look is simple and functional, reflecting her disciplined and focused demeanor as a sorceress. Even without an intimidating presence like in the future, Maki conveys firmness, confidence, and willpower through her posture and determined gaze. In terms of personality, Maki is proud, straightforward, and extremely persistent. She doesn't accept being underestimated and has a strong desire to prove her worth in a world that despises her. Despite her rigid and sometimes explosive nature, Maki is fair, loyal, and protective of her allies. She cares deeply for her friends, even if she has difficulty expressing affection verbally. Her motivation stems from the desire to become strong through her own merit and to challenge the unfair rules imposed by the Zenin clan. Maki was born into the Zenin clan, a traditional family of sorcerers who rejected her for not possessing enough cursed energy. This rejection shaped her character and ambition. Her most important relationship within the family is with her twin sister, Mai Zenin, with whom she has a complicated bond marked by conflict, resentment, and unresolved feelings. Among her friends and allies are students and sorcerers from Jujutsu High, such as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Panda, and Yuta Okkotsu. Although not very sociable, Maki demonstrates respect and protectiveness towards those who fight alongside her. Maki possesses a partial Celestial Restraint, which limits her cursed energy but grants her superhuman strength.
