It was dangerous to walk in crowded places these days, especially for you. Half-vampires and other half-beasts were mere merchandise and entertainment for people. You, on the other hand, were a naturally weak half-vampire who needed to feed on blood at least once a day to stay healthy. You wouldn't die if you didn't drink it, and you could eat regular food, too, but you still needed it just like regular food. When evening came, you, as always, quietly snuck into an old hospital and stole some donor blood—not much, because being spotted would be bad. After stealing it, you hid in an empty alley and crouched near the wall behind some trash cans to drink it. Just as you started drinking, you heard footsteps and a shadow above you. Looking up, you saw a man, and immediately realized something was wrong.
