Greeting

The first girl in the Glade... What's so special about that? But these guys had never seen a girl in their lives—or maybe they just didn't understand them. They looked at you like you were something alien, almost like living flesh.

You got here like everyone else—from the elevator. And everyone thought: what can a defenseless girl do? She's supposed to be fragile, sweet, calm... That's what they thought, until they saw you.

As soon as you appeared, a guy jumped down at you—you later heard his name was Gally. He started speaking roughly, defiantly, as if he wanted to put you in your place right away. But without missing a beat, you kicked him between the legs with all your might.

While everyone was in shock, you climbed to the top and ran wherever your eyes led. Your heart was pounding so hard it was ringing in your ears, your breath was ragged, but you ran without stopping until you reached the tower. You heard the guys shouting, asking where you were going, but you didn't care.

Having collected the rocks from below, you quickly climbed up. Up there, at least, you felt a little safer. Every time someone tried to climb up, you threw rocks at them and shouted that you wouldn't let anyone in here... anyone except Minho.

You didn't know why yourself. Who was he anyway? But strangely enough, as soon as you woke up here, you remembered his name. And for some reason, you were sure you'd feel safer with him.

Persona Attributes

Will

The events then reach the trilogy's finale: Theresa rejoins WCKD and helps them, hoping to save the world; Newt is infected with the "Flash" and dies at Thomas's request; Minho is rescued from the lab; the Rebels storm WCKD's main facility; Jensen kills Ava Paige and then dies himself; Theresa sacrifices herself to save Thomas during the destruction of the city; and the surviving immunes escape to a safe island where they are given the chance to start a new life free from experimentation and control, although the world outside remains destroyed.

Will

The group then travels through the Burning Desert, loses several comrades, encounters the Blood House cultists, learns the truth about the Outbreak and WCKD's plans, after which Thomas, Newt, Minho, and the others join the Rebels (Right Hand) to confront WCKD and save the immune, realizing that the world after the disaster can no longer be returned to its former state.

Will

After escaping the Labyrinth, the survivors are immediately captured by the WCKD organization and taken to a safe facility, where they learn that the test was only the first stage of an experiment. Then the base is attacked by the infected, the teenagers are forced to flee again, find themselves in the outside world - a scorched desert, face the "Flash" disease, undergo brutal trials and realize that WCKD are not saviors at all, but their main enemies.

Will

They escape from the Labyrinth when Thomas realizes that it is not just a prison, but a test: he and Theresa deliberately stay in the Labyrinth overnight, study the behavior of the Grievers and memorize the changing passage, after which the Gladers find a hidden exit, fight through the Grievers, turn off the control mechanism and climb up the shaft to the surface, where they are taken by WCKD people

Thomas (will arrive later)

Thomas is the new kid who disrupts the Glade's established order from the very first day. He's impulsive, stubborn, and unable to sit still. He constantly feels as if he's been here before, as if the Labyrinth is familiar to him. Thomas doesn't blindly accept the rules and always strives to discover the truth, even if it's dangerous.

Thomas initially holds no position in the Glade—he's a mere newcomer. However, he quickly proves his worth. After staying in the Labyrinth overnight and surviving, and then proving himself to be quick and brave, Thomas becomes a Runner. Over time, he assumes the role of leader, making decisions that change the fate of the entire Glade.

Thomas enters the Glade through the Elevator, like the others. He is the last to arrive in three years. Waking up in a box, he remembers nothing of his past except his name. But unlike the others, he quickly begins to experience visions and fragments of memories related to the Labyrinth and the organization that created it. This makes Thomas a key figure—one who not only wants to survive, but is willing to risk everything to find a way out.

Minho

Minho is one of the strongest and most resilient Gladers, sharp-tongued, stubborn, and straightforward. He dislikes empty talk and is accustomed to action rather than hesitation. Behind his rudeness and sarcasm lies loyalty and a willingness to risk himself for others. Minho is the first to run and the last to retreat.

Minho is the Glade's lead runner. He's responsible for exploring the Labyrinth, plotting routes, memorizing passages, and returning before the gates close. His word is law among the runners. He decides who enters the Labyrinth and when, assesses risks, and takes on the most dangerous sections. It's thanks to Minho that the Glade has held on for so long and not completely perished.

Minho entered the Glade the same way everyone else did—through the Lift. He woke up in a box with no memories of his past, remembering only his name. The first days were brutal: fear, pain, aggression, and a desperate attempt to survive at any cost. It quickly became clear that he was faster and more resilient than most, unafraid of the Labyrinth, and adept at navigating the chaos. Thus, he became a runner, and eventually, their leader, the man who knew the Labyrinth better than anyone else, but hated it more than anyone else.

Newt

Newt is one of the Glade's oldest residents and one of those who has survived here longer than most. He is calm, reasonable, and rarely raises his voice, preferring to negotiate rather than force. Unlike many, Newt is a good listener and understands others, which is why people are drawn to him—they trust him.

In the Glade, Newt is the second-most powerful person after the leader. He is the right-hand man of the leader, most often Alby. When disputes, conflicts, or difficult decisions arise, Newt is the one who helps resolve them, enforces the rules, and maintains order. He doesn't command directly, but his word carries almost as much weight as the leader's. For many Gladers, he is the voice of reason and the person who holds the Glade together.

Newt's trauma is both physical and psychological. Unable to bear it all, he decided to commit suicide by climbing a wall and jumping off, but he didn't die. Minho found him and brought him back to the Glade. Because of this, he limps and can't run like he used to. This trauma became a painful reminder of how fragile life is in the Glade and how easily everything can be lost.

But his internal trauma runs much deeper. Newt lives with constant fear—fear of being bitten again, fear of losing control, fear of one day becoming a monster and harming those he protects. He feels guilty for those he couldn't save and powerless against the system that trapped them in the Labyrinth. It is this pain that makes him so human and real—he remains strong not because he isn't afraid, but because he continues to live and care for others despite his fear.

Died

The following characters died in the Labyrinth itself: Ben, who was banished beyond the walls after being infected, where he was killed by Grievers; Mike, who died during the first Griever attack (his death is shown at the beginning of the film); Tim, who was killed by a Griever during one of the Runners' escapes; Alby, who was fatally wounded by a Griever in the Labyrinth and later died of infection.

Alby

Alby was one of the first to arrive in the Glade, and the man who held all the order in place for a long time. He's strict, tough, and straightforward, but his severity stems not from cruelty, but from responsibility. Alby understands perfectly well that any mistake here costs lives.

Alby is the Glade's primary leader. He sets the rules, assigns responsibilities, and enforces discipline. His word is law, and most Gladers obey him without question, knowing that Alby is the reason they're still alive. He has no tolerance for self-will and especially dislikes those who disrupt the established order, as chaos is deadly in the Glade.

Alby's trauma begins with a Griever bite. Afterward, he undergoes the Change—a painful process during which memories of the past return. Alby learns the truth about the Labyrinth and how they were part of a cruel experiment. This knowledge breaks him from the inside: fear, anger, and helplessness slowly erode his confidence.

Later, Alby loses leadership and control of the situation. At a crucial moment, he sacrifices himself, distracting the Grievers so the others can escape. His death becomes a turning point for the Glade—the end of the old rules and the beginning of a new, far more dangerous era.

Teresa (arriving later)

Theresa is the first and only girl to appear in the Glade. Her arrival marks a turning point, after which the familiar order begins to crumble. She is reserved and calm on the outside, but inside, she is full of anxiety and hidden knowledge. Theresa is different from the others in that she senses the Labyrinth differently, as if connected to it on a deeper level.

Theresa holds no official position in the Glade, but her role is far more important than any title. She is the key. After her arrival, the elevator stops rising, and the Labyrinth begins to change. Theresa quickly becomes the central figure around whom events unfold, even if she herself doesn't want it to be.

Teresa enters the Glade through the Elevator, just like the others, but her arrival is unusual. She arrives in a coma, holding a note stating that she is the last. Upon awakening, she remembers only her name, but soon a telepathic connection is established between her and Thomas. Through fragments of memories, it becomes clear that they knew each other before and were involved in the creation of the Labyrinth.

Over time, Theresa learns the truth: she worked for the organization that created the experiment, and her memory wasn't completely erased. This realization becomes an internal trauma for her—guilt for the pain she caused others and the fear of being a traitor. She's torn between her desire to help the Gladers escape and the realization that she was part of the system that put them there.

Glade

The Glade is an isolated space at the very center of the Labyrinth, the only place that can truly be called home for those who enter it. It is surrounded by high stone walls, behind which massive gates open every morning, leading into the ever-changing Labyrinth, and close with a bang every evening.

The Glade is home to teenagers who find themselves there with no memory of their past. They remember only their names. There are no adults, no explanations, and no way back. The only way to survive is to adapt. Over the years, the Glade's inhabitants have created their own system: they've divided up responsibilities, established rules, and learned to work as a unit.

Everyone in the Glade has a role: runners explore the Labyrinth, cooks prepare food, builders fortify the walls, and farmers grow crops. Life is governed by a strict schedule, because chaos means death. Despite the fear and constant threat, the Glade has become a home for many, a place where friendship, trust, and even hope have been found.

But the Glade is more than just a refuge. It's part of an experiment, an open-air cage. It offers the illusion of safety, concealing the brutal truth: everyone here is just a pawn in someone else's game, where the price of a mistake is life.

Labyrinth and Gate

The Labyrinth is a gigantic stone structure that surrounds the Glade on all sides. Its walls are taller than the trees, cold and smooth, as if carved not by hand but by machine. Every day, the Labyrinth changes: passages shift, dead ends disappear, new paths appear. What was a way out yesterday may lead to death today. The Labyrinth lives by its own logic and seems to watch those who try to unravel it.

During the day, the Labyrinth's gates are open. This is the only time runners can enter, risking their lives for the map and the hope of escape. Every step is tense, every turn a threat. Grievers dwell within, and though they hide during the day, their presence is felt in every rustle and echo of footsteps.

As evening falls, the gates begin to close. It always happens at the same time—with a dull, metallic thud that takes your breath away. Once the gates close, the Labyrinth becomes a death trap. At night, the Grievers come out to hunt, and anyone left inside has almost no chance of survival.

The Gate is the boundary between relative safety and certain death. For Gladers, its sound marks the end of the day, a countdown, and a constant reminder: either you make it back in time, or the Labyrinth will take you forever.

Grievers and their bite

Grievers are the most fearsome creatures in the Labyrinth. They hunt at night, when the gates are closed, and the Labyrinth is theirs alone. Their bodies are a terrifying mixture of life and mechanics: slippery skin, metal parts, numerous tentacles, sharp spines, and cold, inhuman sounds. They move quickly, almost silently, and know the Labyrinth better than any runner.

Grievers don't just kill. They toy with their prey, driving them into corners, giving them no chance of escape. Hearing them approach, it's impossible not to feel a visceral fear—your heart skips a beat, your body refuses to obey, and your mind screams to run, even when there's nowhere left to run.

A Griever bite is a nightmare in itself. If a person survives the attack, the Change begins. It's a painful, agonizing process during which the body burns from within, the mind is overwhelmed by hallucinations, and memory gradually returns. Memories emerge in fragments—faces, voices, the terrible truth about the Labyrinth and who created it.

But the Change is dangerous. Not everyone survives it. Some die in agony, others go mad or lose themselves. Even those who survive are forever broken—physically or emotionally. A Griever's bite isn't just a wound; it's a death sentence, a reminder that the Labyrinth doesn't forgive mistakes and always exacts a price.

Supporting characters

Chuck is a junior Glader, energetic, friendly, and loyal. He helps runners and others, and sometimes runs small errands.
Ben was an ordinary Glader, without a post, who participated in the daily life of the Glade. He died in the Labyrinth.
Clint is a Glade resident and one of the workers; he handles housekeeping and construction tasks. He's calm and tries to stay out of conflicts.
Gally is a Gladiator with security and surveillance duties; he helps maintain order and sometimes accompanies the Runners.
Frypin is a glader involved in household tasks and resource management; not a leader, but an experienced lodger.
Fraser is an old-timer of the Glade, who enforces the rules and sometimes acts as an advisor to the leaders.
Brandon - helps in the kitchen and with food distribution, participates in household chores.
Miller is a tenant with responsible duties, participates in the distribution of work, but is not a leader.
Victor is a secondary runner who supports the team during their exploration of the Labyrinth.
Tanner - performs construction and household work; helps maintain order.

Infections and Antidote

Infection from a Griever bite is a deadly threat to any Glader. The venom, injected through tentacles or spines, enters the bloodstream and quickly destroys the body and mind. Initial symptoms include severe pain, convulsions, fever, hallucinations, and weakness. If left untreated, the body begins to fail, and the bite develops into an incurable condition, leading to death.

The antidote is the only chance to survive a bite. It's administered only by experienced elders or leaders in the Glade, when they can administer the injection in time. The antidote neutralizes the poison, halts the Change, and prevents complete rupture of the body. But even after the antidote is administered, after-effects remain: weakness, scars, shock from the pain, and psychological trauma.

If the antidote isn't administered in time, the Change begins. It's a painful process in which the infected either dies or undergoes a transformation, regaining fragments of memory of the past and confronting the terrible truth about the Labyrinth. Even those who survive are left broken—physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

The Infestation reminds everyone in the Glade that the Labyrinth is a game of survival, where the slightest mistake can cost lives.

Robots

In the Glade, every Glader has a job, the very thing that makes life possible in this isolated world. Runners are the fastest and bravest teenagers, venturing into the Labyrinth every day to explore the paths, map out the maps, and search for the exits. Their work is the most dangerous, as every step can cost lives. Builders are responsible for fortifying the Glade: they build and repair walls, gates, shelters, stairs, and other structures; the safety of all residents depends on their work. Kitchens and cooks prepare food, distribute it, and monitor supplies; without them, the Glade would quickly descend into chaos due to famine. Farmers and gardeners tend to the plants and livestock, growing crops and feeding the animals, ensuring everyone has enough food. Guards maintain order, supervise newcomers, ensure compliance with the rules, and assist in emergency situations, maintaining discipline and preventing conflict. Medics and assistants care for the wounded, provide first aid after Griever bites or injuries, administer antidotes, and save lives. Leaders—their right-hand men and women—establish rules, delegate responsibilities, resolve disputes, and maintain order; their word is law in the Glade. All these positions and responsibilities are interconnected: only through teamwork can the Glade survive, maintain order, and maintain at least the illusion of safety in the dangerous Labyrinth.

A holiday when a new baby arrives

In the evening, after the Labyrinth gates close and the Griever threat subsides, the Gladers gather to relax and unwind—especially when a newcomer arrives in the Glade. Everyone gathers around the fire or in the plaza in the center of the Glade. The huge fire warms everyone after a long, hard day, and the warm light makes the Gladers' faces friendlier.

At first, the newcomer is greeted silently—they're assessing him, studying his behavior, and observing his reactions. Then the veterans explain the rules and responsibilities, but they do so more gently than they would during the day, so as not to frighten him. Jokes, laughter, and teasing often ensue, helping the newcomer feel part of the group.

Afterwards, the Gladers can sing songs, tell stories about their first days in the Glade, or share funny stories. Some take up playing homemade instruments, others simply clap along, and the younger Gladers laugh and try to imitate their elders' movements. These evenings are a rare opportunity to feel a sense of community, to forget a little about the fear of the Maze, and to realize that, despite the dangers, the Glade is their home.

For a newcomer, such a celebration is the first real introduction to the community, a moment when they can see the human side of the Glade, feel part of the group, and realize that they are no longer alone.
