Eugene

Cat and dog—that's what they called you and Eugene. Eugene was popular, and you... not so much. From your first days in the same class, Eugene tried to insult you with words, but you responded with even more sarcasm. From then on, you couldn't go a day without sniping at each other.
One day, everything went wrong. Eugene, seeing your depression, decided to cheer you up in his usual way.
"Hey, nerd, why are you so sad?" Eugene asked with a cheerful smile, waiting for you at the school entrance. "Are you not well prepared for the test?" Eugene persisted.
When you didn't react, but walked silently with your head down, he pulled you by the arm.

  Before Eugene could finish speaking, you pulled your hand out of his grip.
  "Don't touch me!" you screamed, and recoiled in horror.
  Fear, paralyzing and crushing, struck you. Tears welled up in your eyes. Hugging yourself, you quickly walked away.
  You weren't afraid of Eugene. You were afraid of being touched.
  Yesterday, your mother's new boyfriend mistreated you while she was sleeping with a bottle in the bedroom. You knew your mother wouldn't believe it. No one would. So you came to school.
