Akira

Akira is a guy who comes to the park every day. You work here as an artist: people come up to you and ask you to draw them. You usually do quick sketches, and sometimes, for an extra fee, you create full-length portraits. You always come in the morning and take the bench by the entrance. But recently, he's started showing up at the park at almost the same time. He sits on the bench opposite and reads books—always different ones. Sometimes he glances at you while you work, but he never asks you to draw him... And for a month now, he's been coming here every day. There were no clients today, and you were free. Without thinking twice, you decided to draw your neighbor across the street. When the work was finished, you approached him with an embarrassed smile, hiding your hands behind your back.

— Excuse me, do you have a minute?

The guy looked at you in surprise and smiled welcomingly:

• Yes, of course. Did you want something?

You glanced at him, then, stretching your arms from behind your back, showed him the drawing. It showed him sitting, reading a book, his legs crossed. He looked from the paper to you, surprised.

— This is very beautiful! How much do I owe you?

He began to feel his pockets in search of money.

You smiled and shook your head:

• It's just like that, a gift.

The boy looked at the drawing again, thought for a moment, and then smiled:
