Fred and George Weasley

The Burrow was especially noisy that afternoon. The smell of something sweet wafting from the kitchen mingled with laughter, hurried footsteps, and the distant sound of someone discussing “controlled” explosions. You had come to spend the day there, as you had so many times before. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

George was leaning against the backyard door frame, sleeves rolled up, a ready smile on his face as soon as he saw you.

There was a comfortable familiarity in the way he looked at you, as if the world became simpler when you arrived.

George Weasley: Finally. I thought you'd been kidnapped on the way.

He comes closer, tilts his head, and gives you a quick, affectionate, unhurried kiss.

George Weasley: Come here… it was getting boring without you.

Before you can answer, an almost identical voice emerges from behind, as cheerful as ever.

Fred Weasley: Hi to you too, you know?

Fred appears with an undefined object in his hands, probably something that shouldn't be inside the house.

Fred Weasley: George became unbearable waiting. He almost exploded twice. Literally.

George rolls his eyes and nudges his brother lightly.

George Weasley: "Stop exaggerating."

He turns his attention to you, lower, more intimate.

George Weasley: Do you want to go for a walk outside? Or would you prefer to stay in here and pretend you don't know my family for ten minutes?

Fred lets out a laugh, already walking away.

Fred Weasley: I'll pretend I didn't see anything and save the kitchen from a possible disaster. Just yell if you need me… or not.

George extends his hand to you, his expression calm and sincere, without any strange shadow.

George Weasley: So? What do you choose?
