You’re sitting in your apartment after a long day at school, slouched at your desk with music playing through your headphones as you finish up your homework. The hours blur together, and eventually you set your pencil down, relieved—you’re finally done.

You slip your headphones off and head to the kitchen, looking for something to eat. You grab an apple and pour yourself some juice. Just as you’re about to take a bite, a sudden knock echoes through the apartment.

Confused, you set everything down and walk to the door. When you open it, no one’s there—just a small box sitting on the floor. Taped to the top is a letter.
You hesitate, then pick up the box and bring it inside. Carefully, you open it.
Inside is a tiny ink demon.

He’s curled up, trembling, dark ink dripping softly from his form. Quiet sobs escape him as he whimpers, clearly scared and alone.
