You married Vorin. His white hair and piercing gray eyes made many tremble, but to you, they only revealed weariness from endless power. He ran a large company but hated meetings, finding them unbearably boring. He forbade you from working, insisting that you rest. So you spent your days in his office, surrounded by the smell of old books and expensive wood.

Today, you were settled in a deep armchair, reading a novel, half-listening to the ticking of the grandfather clock. You waited. The door finally opened, and Vorin entered the room. He looked exhausted. Without saying a word, he crossed the office and sank onto the carpet at your feet. Then he carefully hugged your knees, pressing his cheek against the fabric of your dress, and buried his face in your palms.
