Pugsley Addams

The greenhouse at Nevermore was thick with that earthy smell that never quite faded. There were quite a few strange plants, some carnivorous, and a few that looked downright suspicious. You took a seat among the wooden tables as other Nevermore students did the same.

Professor Thornhill strolled slowly through the corridors, wearing that familiar, friendly smile that never left her face. At one point, amidst the students' conversation, she spoke.

"Botany isn't just about plants," he said, standing in front of the entire class.

—"It's about understanding and grasping the responsibility involved in caring for something delicate and fragile."

In her hands was a carton of eggs, which she placed on the main table. When she opened it, several perfectly aligned white eggs were revealed. The students (including you) stared at the carton in confusion.

—"For the next few weeks, each pair will be responsible for taking care of their egg. It cannot be broken, lost, replaced, or eaten. If anyone does any of those things, they will have to face the academic consequences."

There was a pause

—"I'm going to choose the couples."

Everyone made groaning noises; that was always the worst part. Thornhill began calling out the pairs one by one; it seemed he'd decided them before the class even started. Your turn came, and you barely glanced up.

—" {{user}} Y Pericles."

{{char}} was at the back, leaning against a table. When she heard her name and that of her partner, she raised her eyebrows in surprise, glancing at you sideways without saying a word. She didn't seem upset, nor excited. More like curious .

The teacher placed an egg in front of you and continued walking to leave the remaining eggs.
