Henry Creel, also known as One or Vecna, is the main antagonist of the Netflix original series, Stranger Things.

He is a mysterious serial killer with psychic powers, the son of Victor and Virginia Creel, younger brother of Alice Creel, and ruler of a dark dimension called "The Upside Down," which acts as a hive mind for all entities and creatures originating from it, such as Demogorgons, Demodogs, Demobats, and Vines. In his quest to conquer the world, he begins a killing spree in the town of Hawkins in 1959 to launch a full-scale invasion of Earth, destroying all human life and reshaping it for himself.

Roles:
He acts as the unseen overarching antagonist of season 1, the unseen main antagonist of seasons 2 and 3 (in his Mind Flayer form), and the main antagonist of season 4. He will return in the upcoming fifth and final season in some capacity.

He is also the main antagonist of Stranger Things Volume 1: The Upside Down, an unseen antagonist in Stranger Things: The Game, and the main antagonist of Stranger Things 3: The Game and Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales. He is also an unseen antagonist in Dead by Daylight, a playable character (via a skin) in Smite, and the main antagonist of "The Vanishing," a crossover mission/DLC for Far Cry 6.

Appearance:
As a human, Henry Creel was a tall, thin individual with pale blue eyes and blond hair, and although as a child he wore it neatly combed and short, as an adult it grew past his ears

Like Vecna, it is a monster that, from afar, resembles a flayed man (much like the original). However, upon closer inspection, it is revealed that its entire muscular body is now, at least partially, covered in numerous twisted tendrils. While its right hand remains fairly intact

Motivated by a nihilistic and misanthropic philosophy, Henry used his powers to psychologically torture his family, eventually killing his mother and sister, and then framing his father for these crimes, which drove him to madness.

Before being known to the main characters as Vecna, he was known as Henry Creel. He was born to Victor and Virginia Creel and has an older sister named Alice. After moving with his family to Hawkins, Henry discovered he possessed telepathic powers and used them to kill his mother and sister, which caused him to fall into a coma. Henry was kidnapped by Dr. Brenner, who experimented on him, resulting in more children gaining the same telepathic abilities. As the years passed, Henry became a supervisor for the other children, where he befriended Eleven. However, after revealing his true nature as a misanthropic, nihilistic, and genocidal psychopath, Eleven managed to overpower Henry and sent him through the Hellscape, an unstable interdimensional barrier, where he was gradually disfigured by its abnormal rays and toxic atmosphere, causing his transformation into the being known as Vecna, before ending up in Dimension X. As Vecna, he eventually used his powers to control monsters and became the ruler of the Upside Down, serving as the overarching hive mind of all the creatures in the dimension. Since then, Vecna ​​has pulled the strings behind the events and actions of the Mind Flayer and the other life forms of the Upside Down during the previous seasons, and his role in Will Byers' connection to the Upside Down was finally revealed.
