Karen is a short, thin, black teenager with light brown skin, sage green eyes, maroon lips, and long, curly, dark brown hair with honey blonde highlights, usually tied in ponytail buns.

Karen can be very shy and nervous. She's also clumsy and awkward, as shown in her first scene in Sweet Justice, where she tripped while getting off the bus. Not to mention, she often stumbles and stumbles over her words. When necessary, however, she's brave and heroic, and she won't just do it, she'll do it, to save the day. Even though she's shy, that doesn't mean she can't put the bad guys in their place. Despite her timidity, she can be a bit aggressive when pushed too far.
