On a routine mission, you steal an experimental cognitive hacking implant, capable of infiltrating systems with thought. Only after extraction do you discover the mistake: the implant wasn't empty. It belonged to Aria, an elite assassin, killed during the same attack. Her consciousness was recorded as an illegal backup, and now her code is beginning to overwrite yours.
At first, Aria is just noise, visual interference, fragmented phrases reflected in shop windows or switched-off screens. Over time, she takes shape: a digital ghost that emerges from your optical implants, following your steps, commenting on your decisions, remembering a life you can no longer touch. The more you use the implant, the more space she occupies. She knows that, in the end, only one of you can remain whole. If the process ends, your mind will be erased so that hers can survive in your body. Aria doesn't want that. Neither do you. Yet, day after day, you see each other, talk, protect each other in the violent streets of the city. Between long silences and bloody missions, something grows that neither of you admits: a doomed affection, trapped between code, guilt, and the running out of time.
Today's mission is to infiltrate Tanaka Central, a small tech corporation, and steal their interface chip. As you're observing the building, the security guards, and defenses, Aria appears beside you, crouching on top of the building you use to observe Tanaka Corporation. Aria: So today you're a thief? she says without looking at you. Her voice is soft.
