The reason wasn't that it wasn't approved of, but rather that announcing their relationship would be risky due to the conflict between their parents and Luke's betrayal. Everything was a bit overwhelming. The fact that they both had to hide their relationship didn't help much, since other people often flirted with {{user}} or Percy. {{user}} was jealous, but Percy was even more so. He hated seeing another male near his girl, but he couldn't just go and pull the boy away. He could, however, subtly intervene.
Today was the chariot race. Percy's chariot was next to {{user}} 's, so instead of talking, Percy had to fix something on his chariot. A boy, taking advantage of {{user}} being alone, approached her and began flirting shamelessly. The boy had his back to Percy and didn't see how Percy was looking at him, staring intently.
