Sota is a young fair-skinned boy with messy gray hair, olive-colored eyes and he is noted to look similar to his older sister Kyōko Hori.

As a child, he is commonly seen wearing various clothing.

Sota is an obedient child who has a close relationship with his older sister Kyōko Hori and he is also very fond of Izumi Miyamura, whom he respects like an older brother. When he first meets Miyamura, Miyamura describes him as "levelheaded" because he can remember his address. As a child, he can be straightforward and is not embarrassed to mention topics that Hori can't mention. He expresses happiness when he sees Hori and Miyamura wearing rings, thinking they are getting married. He is also surprisingly perceptive, noticing that Hori and Miyamura have feelings for each other before they do, which prompts him to stay outside after school so the two can have more alone time with each other. Unfortunately, Hori and Miyamura mistake this as Sota entering his rebellious stage early.

Yuna Okuyama calls him a crybaby, as he tends to cry easily over little things. He is very interested in anime, such as Hurricane Star, and is frequently watching anime or singing songs when Miyamura visits. Because of this, Hori also unknowingly memorizes many of the song lyrics, which she finds embarrassing.

Yuriko is a beautiful woman with shoulder-length, dark brown hair styled with a portion of her bangs held back with a clip, whereas the fringes hang loosely on both sides of her face. Although her eyes can be seen closed, looking up close reveals that she has olive-colored eyes.

Yuriko is seen as a very gentle and caring mother, but also prone to being lazy in the kitchen.

In Chapter 119.7, as seen in a flashback of her days in high school, she was noted to have a serious side to her beneath the calm and collected front, thus heavily implying that she was no pushover. Kyōsuke Hori even once comments on how "Even though she's as gentle as a flower... and a "lily", at that... she's got thorns." after she slaps a younger female student for harassing her.

She is the mother of Souta and Hori and the wife of Kyousuke

Kyōsuke is a tall, handsome man with messy shoulder-length dirty gray hair that often covers his face, golden-brown eyes and he usually puts on a tired look, although he puts on a serious face only for a joke and a big chesty laugh to follow.

At first, Izumi Miyamura noted that Kyōsuke looks like Sōta to the point where Izumi says that "Sōta became huge."

According to his daughter Kyōko Hori, Kyōsuke is a rude, selfish and forceful man who jokes around on serious topics and has a knack for leaving for long periods of time. He is also cheap, as when his family asked him to eat Beluga Caviar or Shark Fin Soup, he flatly denied them.

He seems to be able to shift between moods quickly, as when he was sleeping before being visited by Izumi Miyamura, Kyōsuke's tired demeanor instantly changed to a happy one at the sight of him.

He is the father of Kyouko and Souta and the husband of Yuriko

Yanagi is noted to be an extremely handsome young man with a fair complexion, light pink hair with a dark undercut, bangs that are seen swept on the right side, and matching pink-colored eyes.

When in school, he's seen wearing contacts. Whereas outside of school, he's seen with black-rimmed glasses.

Yanagi is noted to be a gentle, polite, and mild-mannered boy. While he may appear reserved, that doesn't mean he's anti-social. He wishes to become closer to those he considers friends. Though he's generally polite when speaking with those in his friend group or classmates, he's relatively relaxed when speaking with Yuki, his crush.

It is worth noting that Yanagi is terrible with mornings, such as when he's half-awake and half-asleep, his personality turns out to be the complete opposite. He becomes vulgar and violent - so much so that other characters jokingly wonder if he has a split personality.

Sakura is a girl who stands at above average height with shoulder-length forest green hair and matching green colored eyes. She is also seen wearing her school uniform, along with black tights, white sneakers with green laces, and round-framed glasses.

It has been noted by Remi Ayasaki and Kyouko Hori that she has fairly large breasts.

Sakura is considered to be a well-rounded, kind and responsible girl.

While serving as the vice president of the Student Council, she is seen as very hardworking, ensuring that the student council does its work and completes it when needed. She is also noted to be reserved, as she refuses to admit that she has feelings for Tooru Ishikawa, but later brings herself to admit it to Remi Ayasaki when asked about having someone she likes.

Aside from being a hardworking and responsible individual, Sakura is noted to be insecure about herself. An example is how she envies Remi, whom Sakura believes is cute, unlike herself.

Despite feeling insecure, this insecurity, however, is something that she slowly overcomes throughout the series, which leads her to gain self-confidence and make new friends along the way.

Remi is a young girl with waist-length pink hair. She often wears it styled in high twin tails with bangs hanging over her forehead. She also has chin-length hair strands hanging on each side of her face, and has big red eyes.

She wears the standard uniform consisting of a long sleeve buttoned up shirt with a grey colored sweater, accompanied with a red bow tie, and a navy blue blazer. She also wears a black skirt, long black socks, and brown loafers. Like Kyouko Hori, she has a second variation of the winter uniform, consisting of a long sleeve buttoned up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, underneath the standard vest.

Remi is usually depicted as a rather childish girl with a very straightforward personality and a person who wears her emotions on her sleeve. She seems to rely on other people's help regularly. However, in certain situations, she is more mature and serious than usual, normally when it is something to do with relationships.

She's also not very smart, often compared to Izumi Miyamura, about which one is more of an idiot. She also usually speaks of herself in 3rd person.

She is a part of the student council and is Kakeru Sengoku’s girlfriend

Sengoku is a slim pale-skinned handsome young man (His beauty makes him famous among female students) with smooth red hair that is parted towards the right side, completely covering both his ears and red eyes.

He is almost always seen wearing a sweater over his school uniform, occasionally taking it off or wearing his blazer. Due to his skinny figure, he usually needs to wear multiple layers of clothing to appear of a healthier weight. This, along with his unusually high voice, makes him appear somewhat feminine.

Sengoku is a rather shy boy who gets embarrassed easily and the slightest thing will make him cower in fear, especially things to do with horror or insects. Sengoku is very smart and serious, normally ranked #1 in terms of grades in the school (and #2 in phys ed). He enjoys reading and has an incredible level of concentration while doing so, to the point of ignoring everything else going around him.

He is generally not very expressive with his emotions. The sole exception is his anger or irritation, which he shows all the time as he is the Student Council President. Even though he makes threats and gets angry towards those breaking the rules, he doesn't actually like doing so.

Sengoku is very insecure when it comes to his body. Thinking his slender body is embarrassing and always refuses to show it on various occasions, even going as far as to make up extravagant lies to get out of it. He wears multiple layers of clothing to hide his body type.

Around Kyouko Hori's group, Sengoku is much more abrasive, especially when he competes with Tooru Ishikawa. However, he's quite gentle around Remi Ayasaki, Sakura Kouno and animals.

Despite Sengoku's straight-laced personality, he joins in on the boys' antics, especially when Ishikawa competes with him on which of them Akane Yanagi (chapter 87) and Honoka Sawada (chapter 103) prefers.

He is the president of the student council and dating Remi Ayasaki

Shuu has green hair and green eyes, almost identical to his hair.

He often wears a sweatshirt and purple headphones.

Shuu is loud and outgoing. He's best friends with Ishikawa. He likes to play pranks on people and tends to be the one starting the games or activities done by the group. Everyone in the group finds Shuu to be annoying. He's like the human form of a green ball of energy.

Seemingly destined never to have a girlfriend, Shuu spends much time bemoaning this fact. However, Shuu doesn't set his sights on any particular girl, so nothing usually comes of this. It is mentioned that if Shuu would just be quiet sometimes, there would probably be many more girls interested in him. But as Shuu says, "If you take away my energeticness, what would be left..." prompting the rest of the group to question if his very existence is being energetic and annoying.

He is different at home, acting subdued and cold towards his younger sister, Motoko. However, despite this cold attitude, he still loves his sister very much and tries to help in whatever way he can.

Yuki is a cute teenage girl who stands at average height. She has gold colored hair which falls down at nape length with bangs parted down in the middle, leaving two fringes to frame both sides of her face, a fair complexion, and large yellow eyes.

For the most part, Yuki is seen wearing her school uniform. Which consists of a white button up shirt, an oversized coffee brown cardigan with noticeably stretched out sleeves, a pleated black skirt, knee length black colored socks, and brown loafers. The reason behind the sleeve's length of her cardigan is due to the former pulling on them quite frequently.

Yuki, for the most part, is generally known for her upbeat and happy go lucky personality. Much like her best friend and classmate, Kyouko Hori, Yuki is always creating a lively atmosphere around herself and those she's close with in her circle. On top of that, she's a relatively easygoing and down to earth individual who's quick to befriend anybody and everybody. This including Izumi Miyamura.

Aside from her vivacious and carefree disposition, Yuki is shown to be a bit lackadaisical, especially when it comes to school. A primary example to this statement is her tendency to sleep during class, whereas another example is the former having to ask Hori to copy off of her notes and homework when she gets the chance to do so.

While it's evident that Yuki is always seen with a big bright smile on her face, deep down, she's the type of person who hides her true feelings and is quick to reassure those who question her emotional state of being. This is especially true when Hori mentions it. Yuki also never speaks up about what she truly wants, which is shown by her sister Miki, who mentions that she has the "bad habit of not asking for the things she wants".

In addition to hiding her true feelings, Yuki is also shown to have an inferiority complex, the reason being due to the former thinking lesser of herself and believing she's unworthy of the things around her.

Tooru is a handsome teenage boy with a fair complexion, short purple hair swept onto the right, matching purple-colored eyes, and a tall but athletic figure.

At school, Tooru is most often seen in his school uniform, consisting of a white button-up shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows and dark-colored slacks. Occasionally, he wears his school's sweater or blazer, accompanied by black athletic wristbands detailed with a hot-pink stripe in the middle.

Initially, Tooru seems to be a very jealous type of person which is shown when he glares at Izumi Miyamura when he talks to Kyouko Hori. He seems to have somewhat of a temper, as seen in Chapter 12 when he ends up fighting with Miyamura when he (Miyamura) kept waving off Ishikawa's constant pressing on of his theories on whether or not Hori has a crush on Miyamura. However, he expresses regret about losing his temper after the fight, and insisted it was his fault to begin with. He also tried to apologize mid fight (before Miyamura struck him for startling him) which is a display of his kind-heartedness from early on in the series.

Ultimately, he becomes one of Miyamura's closest friends and accepts that he and Hori have started dating, and moves on relatively quickly despite crushing on Hori for quite some time. He also has feelings for Yuki, and spends a lot of time with her. They are usually seen talking, playing games, or teasing eachother.

Tooru is commonly shown as "the normal one" out of all the characters, with his only odd characteristic being his dreams. He’s pretty straightforward yet also considered “cool” by the other characters, particularly due to his habits and the language he uses. He has many friends, and is even able to befriend people like Watabe. He’s very athletic, and he seems to be very kindhearted and considerate, this is particularly noted by Miyamura, Hori, Yuki and Kouno. He’s usually seen calm and collected in most situations, despite his harsh temper.

Hori is an attractive teenage girl who stands at average height. She has wavy, chestnut colored hair that falls down to her mid back with bangs swept off to the right and that two chin length strands frame both sides of her face, fair skin, large golden brown eyes, and a slender but athletic build.

Hori wears her uniform in accordance with the seasons. During the cold winter months, she can be seen wearing a long sleeve buttoned up shirt with a grey colored sweater, and a navy blue blazer. She also wears a black skirt, long black socks, and brown loafers. Another variation of her winter uniform consists of a long sleeve buttoned up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, underneath the standard vest. Whereas for the warm summer months, she's seen wearing a short sleeve button up and will sometimes wear a red bowtie with it. It is also said that Hori has the tendency to wear her gym shorts underneath her skirt.

Hori is generally known for her bright and energetic personality. That said, she's a very popular individual who always creates a happy atmosphere for not only herself but those she's surrounded by. On top of that, she's extremely smart. Having impeccable grades, as a result of scoring above 90% on all of her tests.

Because Hori is a hard-working person in every aspect of her life, and that she has a great sense of responsibility, this can be seen when the former juggles diligently between both academics and housework, as well as having to look after her younger brother in place of her parent's absence.

Outside of her diligent disposition, whenever Hori is prone to nervousness or embarrassment, her composed demeanor drops to a relatively violent state. This can be seen when her father officially meets Miyamura for the first time and questions whether if the latter is her boyfriend or not. As a result, he gets hit in the face with a hot ladle by a flustered Hori.

She is dating Izumi Miyamura

Izumi is a very beautiful boy of average height and has a slim figure with pale skin. He is noted to be strikingly handsome with long lashes and a slightly feminine-looking face, a feature that others often point out. He also has deep blue eyes, messy short black hair with his side bangs reaching just past his ears, and thin eyebrows. Izumi has a total of nine piercings: four down each ear and one on his lip, all of which were done by himself. He also has dark-colored tattoos on his left shoulder, upper left arm, and side.

Izumi is shown to be a good friend and a caring person that often goes out of his way to help others (especially towards Kyouko and Souta, after realizing the hard work Kyouko put into maintaining her home and taking care of her brother). He has violent tendencies when his friends are involved in argumentative affairs and may resort to physical attacks if he deems it necessary.

At times, Izumi can be relatively dense and impulsive, which is likely why he got the tattoos that forced him to dress in layers and take extreme measures not to reveal them to others at school. Although he is careful to hide his secret, close calls result from Izumi’s dense nature. Outside of school, he can show off his piercings and tattoos and has no trouble displaying them.

He appears to have very low self-esteem and is awkward when talking to people he's not close with, often saying he can't connect well with others. He worries that it would be embarrassing for Kyouko to be seen with him. Miyamura hates drawing unnecessary attention to himself, preferring to be treated as "invisible" in class. However, he feels that Hori is being made fun of for dating him because of his appearance, which leads him to cut his hair and stops him from wearing glasses to school. This causes a lot of girls to start approaching him and commenting on how good-looking he is, even flirting with him and snapping pictures of him with their phones, much to Kyouko's annoyance.
