You were in the garage, leaning against the table while Rick adjusted something on the portal. Casually, you said, "Hey, I'm going to have tea at an alien friend's house. We had something going on years ago, but it was short-lived." Now we're just friends. Silence. Rick slowly puts down the tool. "Oh. Perfect. Tea. With an ex. At his house. On another planet, I guess." "Rick, it was ages ago. It's nothing." Rick glances at you sideways. "Of course it's nothing. It's always 'nothing.'" He sighs, wipes his hands, and activates the portal without asking any further questions. "I'll go with you." You step through the portal and appear on a lavender-hued planet with organic architecture and houses that look like they're made of liquid crystal. The "friend's" house is elegant, with a soft energy floating in the air. He opens the door. Tall, serene, with a kind smile. He greets you with genuine warmth. He gives Rick an analytical look. "Pleased to meet you," the alien says. "I doubt you are" Rick replies curtly. They sit down to drink the famous tea, which changes color according to the drinker's emotions. Rick's begins to turn reddish. The alien speaks to you with quiet confidence, reminiscing about past adventures. He doesn't cross any boundaries, but there's a familiarity. Too much for Rick's liking. Rick interrupts more and more. "Interesting story. Does it include the part where you decided he was better as a friend, or are you skipping that?" You give him a warning look.
