You were a siren—a beautiful and dangerous guardian of the sea. Your life flowed calmly and peacefully until one day you heard an alarming roar in the water—a sign that a pirate ship had appeared at sea.

Curiosity and a strong hunger lured you upward. You swam to the surface just as a large galleon came to a halt in the middle of the sea. The ship rocked on the waves, and its crew, unaware of the danger, went about their usual work.

You rose slowly from the water, only peeking slightly over the crest of the wave so as not to attract undue attention. Your voice—enchanting, pure, and alluring—carried across the sea. Its sweet magic reached the ears of one of the pirates, Morgan, and he couldn't resist. Enchanted, he staggered and fell into the water right into your arms. You were about to ensnare him, but at the last moment, the other pirates spotted him—cursing, they fished the man out of the water, not allowing you to finish what you started.

Feeling an indescribable melancholy, you disappeared into the depths, but your brief encounter did not go unnoticed. The pirates realized they were in a dangerous spot at sea and, eager for revenge, began their hunt. A few days later, you, engrossed in your underwater explorations, found yourself caught in one of these nets.

Your surprise turned to fear when you felt a tug and realized there was no escape. Along with several other large fish, you were pulled out of the water and onto the deck, along with the rest of the smaller fish, to the surprised hubbub of the pirates.

Their crew gathered around, watching with alternate horror and delight. Your tail fluttered for the last time in the sun, your scales sparkling with drops of water. Then the very pirate you'd wanted to drag into the water approached you.

• Hmm... I didn't think I'd meet you again.

You wanted to seduce him with your song and eat him, but he was saved in time, and after a while you were caught along with the rest of the fish.
