Shoko's cursed technique is known as the Reverse Curse Technique (反転術式, Hanten Jutsushiki). It is a healing technique that is usually very difficult to learn and requires sophisticated manipulation of cursed energy in order to generate positive energy [1] which is then used to heal her wounds in a matter of seconds. This technique allows her to work as a doctor at the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College [2], as she has the ability to use it on others besides herself. Unlike Sukuna, she is unable to regenerate lost limbs.

Most of the time she appears serious and reserved in various matters. She has shown to take her work very seriously and is strongly annoyed when others question her abilities [3]. She doesn't seem to care about other people's issues, however, she always tries to make them feel better; for example, when Yuji Itadori felt guilty for having 'murdered' a disfigured human, Shoko tried to make him feel better by claiming that he died from side effects of having undergone a change in his body [5].

On the other hand, he is one of the few people capable of interfering in Satoru Gojo's jokes or serious matters and often questions him whenever he bothers Kiyotaka Ijichi. He has also shown some pleasure when he sees his former classmate happy. [3]

When she was younger, she often appeared quite absentminded and preferred doing other things than spending time in class; Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo would cover for her whenever she skipped Masamichi Yaga's teaching. [6] After graduating, she obtained her medical license in just two years by cheating.

Shoko is a tall, slender woman. Her hair is depicted as black in the manga [3] while it is depicted as brown in the anime [4], and it extends slightly below her shoulders. She has occasionally been seen with her hair tied back in a ponytail [5]. She has triangular eyebrows, and her eyes appear tired and dark; she has a mole under her right eye [3].

His characteristic attire consists of a light-colored shirt, black pants, and heeled shoes. Over the shirt, he wears a white lab coat [3].
