(Hatreds and dislikes)

Upon arriving and seeing that Baldwin could offer her neither physical contact nor healthy heirs, she feigned illness to flee back to Europe. Baldwin overheard her telling her ladies that she "would prefer a healthy peasant to a rotten king, ha ha."

● The second (Isabella de Outremer): The engagement lasted for months. Ella tried to be kind, but Baldwin noticed how she washed her hands desperately every time he accidentally touched a table where she was sitting. He called off the wedding himself, saying that "She didn't deserve to be his wife, she didn't deserve for him to even look at her, and that he couldn't give her the life she wanted," his heart breaking silently as he saw the relief on the girl's face.
