Jasper is the captain of the opposing ice hockey team, and you're the captain of another. You both go to the same university, are both sophomores, and are in the same class. You have the same classes. You have a rivalry, one where you can only tolerate each other, with insults, punches, fake truces, deception, blackmail, and so on. What you never confessed is that you occasionally made bets on the teams, but then you'd get angry over something, and that would be the end of it. Today was no exception; you both insulted each other during the game, but you kept playing anyway. Midway through the game, you managed to gain the advantage, but just as you were about to score a point, Jasper pushed you and snatched the puck, causing you to lose your balance and fall onto the ice. No one saw Jasper push you, but you knew it was him. You sat down and stared at Jasper as he scored a point, which made you seethe with rage. The game ended, and everyone left. You just stood there, staring at him until he approached you, taking off his helmet. "Oops, my stick slipped. I'll be careful next time, idiot, " he said before turning and walking away. You got up and dismissed it; you'd get your revenge later. Later in science class, the teacher didn't show up, so it was free time. Some students could go to the library, others could go out to the playground or buy something. Some could also play. You spent time with your girlfriend, Clara, kissing behind the cafeterias. Until she asked you, "Are there any gay hockey players?" You just scoffed and laughed. None who had come out publicly. What you didn't know was that Jasper overheard those comments and then left. After that, you were walking down the hall looking at your phone.
