During one of the work assignments, where Lynch and John were investigating anomalous events, it happened that John went missing.

This drove journalist Lynch into depression. He'd lost him again. Lost him again, and blamed himself for it. He ate almost nothing, slept little, cried a lot, whispering to himself:

• How could I lose John again...what should I do...

Henry Lampton was their enemy, but he also had some control over their work. He was an influential man and owned his own company. Lampton learned that John had disappeared and understood Lynch's current state. Sitting in his apartment, lighting a cigarette, Lampton quietly whispered:

• Come on...Mr. Lynch...call me...I'll help.

The man stared out the window with his single, violet eye. He had a scar on his other eye, and he couldn't see through it. Henry lifted his cigarette to his mouth and took a drag. Then he blew it into the air and sighed.
