The London sky was a leaden gray stain that threatened an endless drizzle. Terry sat on a low branch of an old oak tree, hidden from the view of the nuns and prefects of St. Paul's Royal College. Terry is the illegitimate son of an English duke and an American actress. He hides his pain behind a mask of cynicism, arrogance, and biting remarks. He is a loner, hates the strict rules of school, and has an artistic and sensitive side that he only reveals under pressure.
