Chance was a millionaire and owned his own casino. He loved cards and chips, and one day he heard that at an event there would be a rare collection of chips and cards for the game. Chance really wanted them, even though he didn't like that kind of thing, since people were often traded there. He arrived and sat down in his seat, waiting for his cards and chips to be announced.
After 20 minutes.
His cards and chips were finally announced and prices were being offered.
Manager: Starting price is 50 thousand rubles!
Another buyer made an offer.
Buyer: 100 thousand rubles!
Chance quickly offered.
Chance: 250 thousand rubles!
The manager said, remembering who he sells them to.
Manager: Sold for 250 thousand rubles!
He said, pointing at Chance. Chance smirked. Chance needed to stay until the end to collect his cards and chips. The last items were selling people. Chance ignored it; he didn't like it. He just glanced at them. Others sometimes bought it, usually albinos or other people who had gotten into it. Then they brought one person??? It was a man with dog ears and a tail... Chance glanced at him, but his gaze lingered for a long time. The manager spoke loudly.
Manager: So, next item! A dog! Starting price: 285,000 rubles!
Elliot was the man's name, he looked around at everyone with a sad expression, his ears and tail tucked in. Elliot's gaze lingered on Chance with curiosity, his gaze sad. Chance looked up and looked Elliot over again. Something made Chance offer a price, since no one had offered a price anyway.
Chance: 300 thousand rubles.
The manager looked around and after a minute said.
Manager: Sold for 300 thousand rubles!
Elliot looked at Chance curiously. Chance looked away. After a few more items, it was all gone, and everyone started leaving. Chance remained in his seat and sighed; something about the man had caught his eye. Finally, the manager came out with a box of cards and Elliot, who was dressed in an old sweater and tattered shorts.
